This is the first work I viewed and on initial thought I wondered the purpose of these designs.
wearable workarounds for “defensive architecture”
But being one of the 'hostile art' protestors, I saw this picture that explains one reason for the different, odd, human 'statues'.

Does anyone else know of other artists who have taken a stand agains the 'hostile art'?What do you think of Sarah Ross's solution?
Along with demonstrating her 'cure' for the art deterrents, I want to also display some of her other works using her skill and talent though they are not directly related to this subject.
Dipped Lights

Moonlight Sonata

North Route No. 2
Hmmm. Interesting work. I have to think about it. I recall visiting the college she attended and looking at both the student work and that of the faculty and thinking "What a mediocre program". Just goes to show, diamonds can be found in coal mines.
I like Moonlight Sonata and North route No. 2Dipped lights could use a bit stronger highlighting on the waves as in Moonlight Sonata.
Actually I think the darks could be deeper as well, and the moon brighter.
Not bad at all.
Right on, Aaron. When I first looked at them, I felt there was something askew. I am glad you took the trouble to look at them more carefully. Perhaps the artist could use the critique. It´s so hard when you are the creator and you have to be self critical sufficiently to pull the piece off. That´s why I like to show my work to good critiquers and let them tear into it gently. Gently is the imperative word and if you teach art, that is of the utmost importance. I´ve seen one too many art teacher tear away at the ego and work simultaneously. Bad, Bad, Bad.
Yes, not bad at all. She`s definitely got talent. It´s always interesting to see a beginning career that shows promise. I certainly would encourage her to make a living at it.
Anyone who studies with someone who does this sort of stuff is wasting money and time. There are thousands who never learned their craft. The best they can do is teach if they manage the right connections. This stuff is no worse than most big money stuff, but to get any place at that one needs the right connections with the big money con-men, more difficult.Read about all that in "Modern Art a Portrait of Mediocrity" on Amazon
Poly, I think mediocrity is reflective of our educational system as a whole, and not just the visual arts either. In my generation my state went through what was dubbed "The Brain Drain" where the youth who went out and got an education never came home. Our grade schools like so many others were focused on numbers (graduates) rather than ensuring those graduates were actually receiving the education Federal spending was paying for.I think that societal changes over the last century can explain a lot, as much as I have fun blaming my parents generation "the baby boomers" for losing their way. No offense to any boomers in here ;)
For example, go to Pinterest or the internet and look up Andrey Remnev. That's someone who can draw and paint and has original ideas. There very many artists like this who have skill craft and can produce quality. The Official Modern Art Establishment never dare mention someone like this lest they compete with the garbage the sell.I don't have time to put his painting here and its no effort to find him on the net and see not a few but a huge selection. Tell us what you thing about this.

I was messaging with a man in another group and he invited me to check out a particular artist. This lead to me reading many more articles and one thing lead to another. I will try to cover all or most of what I have discovered.
Maybe those of you more enlightened in current art already know of Sarah Ross. When I first looked at some of her 'sculpture' images, I was a bit confused and wondered the point of doing this or that specific piece. She not only creates a type of minimalist or contemporary art sculpture, but also dabbles in painting , video and architecture as well. I will preface some of her works with a bit of her background. Then I will display a few of her works as an introduction.

"My name is Sarah Ross. I am a recent graduate of Grand Rapids Community College. There, I earned my associate’s degree in Welding Technology, certificate in Welding, associate's degree in Tooling and Manufacturing, and took all the classes offered for German language. I love working with fiber, metal, wood, clay, and glass. I also have a passion for drawing and painting. I am most inspired by other artists, plants, and different cultures. I have a big family that supports me in whatever I do. Other things in my life that I enjoy are cooking, yoga, running, motorcycles, traveling, and playing with my three dogs. I want to show the world how a young lady, like me, can make a difference, using my talents at work.
