This is our discussion of the short story....

"A Calendar of Tales" by Neil Gaiman

From the anthology Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances by Neil Gaiman. See Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances discussion hub for more info on the anthology and pointers to discussion of its other stories.

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) This was clever - 12 stories, each focusing on a different month. It only was diminished slightly when I read in the Introduction that it was some sort of a joint project with BlackBerry. Oh well, authors gotta eat too I suppose.

As for the stories themselves, I'd say the strongest were January (reminded me of the movie Edge of Tomorrow for some reason), March (reminded me of American Gods) and September. Weakest were the summer months (June, July, August) and December.
