A beach read makes me think of the ocean. How about books that deal with oceans and seas. The navy could be part of that theme.

Camille (camillesbookishadventures) There's the Saint Jean bonfires in June so how about natural disasters?
That could be NF or not, a story set during a natural disaster, etc.
