Jane Blythe Here's mine, after my dark romance stalker story I thought I would go with something completely different

She stared her opponent in the eye.

She was not going to lose. No way, no how. She was going to come out victorious if it killed her.

"Two can play this game," she muttered.

"Roll over," she said firmly and held up a treat.

The puppy just stared back at her.

"Roll over," she repeated.

Fine if the puppy wouldn't do it, then she would demonstrate. She lay down on the soft grassed and performed the trick herself, then she sat back up and eyed the puppy hopefully.

"Roll over," she instructed.

Nothing.

She groaned. Someone behind her laughed.

"Why did I let you talk me into getting a puppy?" she asked her husband.

"Because you love me," he grinned. "Roll over," he said to the puppy.

Obediently the furry little fluff ball rolled over.

"Hey, no fair," she pouted. "How come he does it for you and not for me? Pesky little thing."

Her husband just laughed. "Good boy," he ruffled the puppy's head and gave him a treat. "Roll over," her husband said again, only this time he was looking at her.

"What?" she asked, confused.

"I said, roll over," he repeated, grabbing hold of her and rolling her onto her back and then kissing her senseless.

"I love you," she told him.

"I love you more," he said.

"I love you most," she stared at him adoringly. He was the single best thing in her life. He made her excited to get up every morning. He made her want to grow old just so that she could enjoy every day with him. He made the sun brighter and the stars twinkle more dazzlingly than diamonds. He was her heart.

She was about to kiss him again when a furry little face squeezed its way between them and a million wet little kisses rained down on her.

"Okay, okay," she laughed, "you're not a pesky little thing."

She picked up the puppy and cuddled it, she loved the adorable little fur ball every bit as much as her husband did.

I love a romance story that has absolutely nothing to do with ‘new’ love. Keeping the romance alive is just as sexy as the fall—

Totally agree! My current series will end up spanning 15 years between book 1 and book 10, I love to see how the character's relationships grow and develop after they fall in love and wind up together!
