Will Grayson, Will Grayson discussion

For my free-read for the last semester, I chose to read Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. I chose to read this novel because I had read numerous other novels by John Green (Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars) and loved them. In this novel there are two boys, both named Will Grayson, and their friend named Tiny Cooper, who is gay. The first Will has a crush on a girl named Jane while the other Will is in love with a boy named Isaac… confusing right? My favorite part of the novel is when Will Grayson and Will Grayson meet for the very first time in an unsuspecting place… This novel is full of humor, which is a different tone from Green’s usual “boy-meets girl” love story. It shows the hardships of being gay as a teen and celebrates “coming out”. Although I did enjoy the book, I like John Green’s mushy love dramas so much more (maybe this is one of Green’s novels that would appeal more to a male audience?)I would recommend this book to someone who wanted to read an upbeat book with happy ending. This book made me laugh out loud at times and was an easy read.
