I started this morning.

Awesome! I looked for the audio late Tuesday night, but it wasn't listed on Audible as available yet. I'm planning to listen as well.

I got the book from the library today. OMG SO excited. Cannot wait to read. I read the sample chapters few times already in anticipation of the book lol.

Jersey village: Nothing much! Apparently it really exist (I googled). It was a great way to bring in an underground and scary area.
Bug: I didn't like the way narrator was panting when doing his voice. I guess that's why I didn't like him much.

I needed audio and White Hot is on audio but the other one is an ebook! So....
I was going to start them at the same time but the problem is that both are in first POV and it makes it harder.

Instead of reading I'm reading my ebook if white hot from thw beginning!

I think her dad had a huge magical ability and he was hiding it. Just told his children he didn't have any for safety reasons.
Lian's ability wasn't clear at all. He can see the best stargtegy...
Rogan said she's a dual. I think he meant a dual prime.
Her dream in the cave and eating rats has some kind of meaning. I think Rogan was projecting his own dream. (hide spoiler)]

I gave it 4.5 stars. I would have given it 5 full stars if it didn't remind me this much of Kate Daniels.
I loved that Cornelius is going to start working for her. He's an interesting character.
Her sisters magic was unexpcted. Well the older one was. There had been hints about the younger one's.
I wish they had used Leon's magic somehow. (hide spoiler)]

One other thing that I dont understand about it is how they knew what would happen if Katalina continued using her magic on people.
What Nevada said about the finger is a big assumption. She said this is a new talent and no one else has it. Unless Katalina is missing one finger I don't know how she got to this conclusion. (hide spoiler)]

Yes, there were scenes that were pure Kate. However, I still enjoyed it.

Not far at all...still not at the end of Chapter 2. I had a volunteer job that I was working on (should have put my audio on, but I was trying to concentrate...LOL!) and then got sidetracked by cleaning house for company that was coming.... who never showed! **shakes head**

I'll get back to it tomorrow, though.

I read this at the beginning of the month and then forgot about posting here. I agree that Cornelius is an interesting character. Katarina's talent was also a surprise. I think something happened in the past that made them realize how scary it could be. They referred to a situation when she had to be rescued.

As for Lian's magic, that was odd as I wasn't sure how it was different from a short term precog. He was predicting rather than knowing?

I think I also gave it 4.5 stars. I felt that Rogan is a grittier character than Curran and the relationship he has with Nevada has more questionable behaviors. While he is in some ways an alphahole, he is also incredibly damaged while Curran had an "adopted" father and strong set of friends that gave him balance. Rogan is more a law unto himself and that means he pushes into unacceptable territory in his interactions with Nevada. And he doesn't really see it unless called on it, and even then he doesn't necessarily understand why it's a problem.

I agree that Rogan is "a law unto himself". He's also mentally at war with the world and in survival mode. The only reason he cooperates with Lenora Jordan is because he sees her as an ally. While Curran wouldn't fight Jim unless Jim attacked him first, Rogan would kill Agustine in a heartbeat if he saw him as an enemy and potential threat.

The best part is that the next book will be out in a month :D

I need to re-read WH again. I read it fast and tried to absorb everything. I feel there were some things I could understand better. I cannot wait for Wildfire. So excited.

Loved this book. Loved Rogan more in this one, if that's possible. LOL!
