I am on a streak of absolutely enjoyable books that take no brain power to read and I will not remember the details a week from now. It is a great way to kick off my summer, but I am about ready for something more substantial.
Female main character (see? I could not even remember her name long enough to write a review) works at a library in Birmingham, England. She is quiet, loves books, and lives with a roommate in order to make ends meet. When she loses her job, NINA (Ha! Remembered) buys a big van, stocks it with books to sell, and moves to rural Scotland. There, she finds a life that she never knew she wanted and has a few romantic flings in between getting to know the people, saving some kids, and coming out of her shell.
There was nothing wrong with this book. It was cute, I liked the characters, and I adore books about books. But, I don't think I am really a "cozy" reader. I'm not a huge fan of cozy mysteries (I want grit), I'm not a huge fan of cozy romances (I want heat), and this was a cozy little romance in a cozy little town.
If you a fan of cozies, then I recommend this book! It was fun and enjoyable. But, it is not earth-shattering, which is just what I needed right now, but I cannot in good conscience rate it higher.
