I started reading the book last night! This is the second book by Haigh that I've read. I read Faith by her a few years ago. That book is set in an unnamed south shore town.
I am about 40% of the way through the book.

I'm having a bit of trouble getting into this. It's probably not helping that I'm listening to the audio and having a hard time keeping track of the characters. I just downloaded the kindle version from the library so hopefully that was right.
Did anyone see the movie "Promised Land" with Matt Damon and John Krasinski? This is kind of making me think of that.

I didn't see the movie, but it certainly seems similar based on the trailer. It's always easier to read a book like this when there isn't much else to do while traveling. I definitely felt the book dragged, and I was invested in a few characters. There are just too many topics being covered here. I mean, I know that all of these issues are faced in small towns every day, but it makes it difficult to focus on the plot, such as it was, moving forward.

Join us live in person over brunch to discuss the book the last weekend in June and/or post your progress and thoughts about the book here!
