DC on TV discussion

This is the latest Warner/DC schedule for their live action movies;

•May 2016 – Batman v Superman
•July 2016 – Shazam
•Xmas 2016 – Sandman
•May 2017 – Justice League
•July 2017 – Wonder Woman
•Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
•May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

This comes form a un-named but reliable source within the company.
The supposed delay in making Batman vs. Superman is so that they can line up all their major name stars for their future movies since many of them have cameo rolls in Batman vs. Superman. Which, in the same way that Marvel does with their movies, making sure said celebrities are available for those shooting times.

This is an interesting and forward move finally from Warner/Dc which have been accused of dragging their heels and not caring about their big screen presence.
I've never had a doubt that they would eventually get their stuff together.

What do you think of this listing?

Looks impressive. We apparently have a lot of superhero stuff to look forward to within the next few years, starting with this fall's TV shows. I saw a Shazam live action movie a few years back (the name escapes me, but I'm sure most of you have seen it), and he's a likeable character.

Looks like Shazam is filming. They released some pictures from the set and the suit looks on model.
DC might manage to create two movies that don't suck.

Good to hear - the screenings for Aquaman seemed positive as well. I forgot about a Shazam movie, I'll definitely be seeing it.

And they are talking about making a New Gods movie, directed by the woman who did a Wrinkle in time...?

Can't decide how I feel about this.

So, Aquaman trailer...better then I thought, but trying too hard to make him Thor.

Black Manta looked badass though.

And the Shazam trailer was a letdown.
Too goofy, too jokey.

I didn't catch the Black Manta yet, but I agree the Aquaman trailer looks decent.

I always took the story as a fun, light-hearted one but I hope it doesn't turn out cheesy.

If that trailer is a true taste of the movie, then it's gonna be cheesy.

Could be wrong, but my faith in DC is very low.

I don't mind the cast for Aquaman, but it looks like they are doing something they always seem to do - someone reluctant to accept the destiny and depressed. I don't know a lot of backhistory with Aquaman, but I hadn't heard of him leaving his home entirely and having little interest in it.

All DC heroes are sad and have tragic backstories.
It's the rule now.

So, what has happened to the DC movie schedule?
The list at the top of this thread has been completely gutted and there are a ton of rumors, but aside from WW and maybe Shazam, nothing too solid.

Maybe it's the merger, but both the streaming and the movies seem in a bad place.

What I want to know is how did DC ( which owns a streaming service) screw up, so one of their biggest properties went to netflix...?

It's like DC is bad at this or something.

I'm subscribing the past few months with DC Streaming. Perhaps because of contract, they don't have Smallville on their own streaming. I'm assuming they may have sold the Lucifer rights in a way to Netflix? They are missing most of their current TV shows.

Also, their service is cheaper than some options, but I can only watch on my computer. It works on phones/tablets, but not on Rokus or Firesticks, so no TV streaming. Very odd choice for the company to limit their product that way. I won't be keeping it indefinitely, was going to stream for a few months, they need to put more effort into their services.

I'm a bit of an oddball - love my phone but hate watching stuff on it, so I'm not streaming on it. I have a Kindle fire as the closest to a tablet, but since I only watch TV at home, I of course would prefer one of my televisions or one of my computer screens (dual Monitor) if I'm doing something on the computer while watching something. i would think DC would be able to afford bringing streaming to the other services like the other companies have.

Was going to try the DC streaming, but got outvoted by my wife, and we got Disney+ instead.

Can't watch Swamp Thing or any Superman stuff, but Disney+ has 'Spider-man his amazing friends'

I havent' been watching DC Streaming for awhile since I've been sick and behind on stuff, so they've been getting my money but that's it. I need to start watching more of the stuff. I don't have any small children so not biting on Disney + yet until they get more material I'd be interested in. Spiderman and his amazing friends is cute.
