Summer Sprint/Winter Wind Down (2017)
I'll try to at least finish one of the books I am reading now, maybe two. Still in the midst of moving unfortunately, so things will be hectic for a while!
Hoping to at least finish both books (The Great Gatsby and Cinder) I'm reading now and maybe even another one (H is for homicide).

I will be reading three books for reading challenges. The Mill on the Floss, Mysterious Island and The Desert of Wheat. I also started before midnight. I was going to read 20 pages of Desert of Wheat, as a preview. 20 pages turned into 40.
Book 1:
I was not intending to read this book, A Kestrel for a Knave by Barry Hines, so quickly, but I got hooked on it and finished it tonight. I gave it five stars.

Jenny wrote: "Haha Susan, as long as the book is finished during the readathon, it counts!"Ah ok, so you really have to finish it to count?
1. Cinder by Marissa Meyer ★★★★★2. Glitches by Marissa Meyer ★★★★
3. The Little Android by Marissa Meyer ★★★★
I finished Belinda by Maria Edgeworth. And read about 12 chapters of The Last Chronicle of Barset.
Susy, it counts either way. If you don't finish it during the readathon, you count however many pages you read of it. If you go over only a day, you can still count it as well. We're really quite flexible with it!
I made some progress on The Last Chronicle of Barset too. There is a lot of interesting stuff happening in this book, but it is so long. My goal is to catch up with the reading schedule for our book discussion. I am six chapters behind.
Finished:A Dog's Purpose
A Very Merry Hockey Holiday
The Deep End
Alex
If You Lived Here, I'd Know Your Name: News from Small-Town Alaska
The Handsome Man's Deluxe Café
Partially read, but not finished:
Overtime
I will try to read the complete manga series The Vampire Knight that my friend gave me. She wants them back soon so this readathon is the perfect opportunity to read them all. Also, this is my first readathon
Book 2: Magic or Not? by Edward Eager. He is the author of several children's books involving magic, the most famous being Half Magic. The book I read is about a wishing well, and the children are not sure if it grants wishes or not, but they have a memorable summer.

I enjoyed it. It was set in 1957, so it was a real nostalgic read for me. The illustrations were cute too.
Book 3: for June Bride
This book is about a very unlucky bride-Die Braut von Messina by Friedrich Schiller

I'm now on volume 9. I've had so much to do this last week and didn't have as much time to read as I wanted to.
Danielle, I am reading a really sweet and funny romance right now by Shelia Roberts, from her Life In Icicle Falls series, called A Wedding On Primrose Street
Book 4: Queen Elizabeth II´s Diamond Jubilee by Press Association
I found this free e-book whike looking for books that start with Q for a challenge. The photos are excellent.

I read 15 chapters of The Last Chronicle of Barset and am now up to date with the group schedule. Of course, now I want to read ahead.
Lol. I couldn't stop myself. I finished last night. I'm going to have to be careful of spoilers.
Started The Reverse of the Medal today while driving back from my Sunday Breakfast with Dad. Jack and Stephen are one of my dearest summer treats. It's great to be at sea with them again!
I am going on a trip in a week, and the book is coming with me. We are taking the train across Canada so I will have time to read when it is dark outside.
Book 7: Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury
This book is a nostalgic look at one summer in a small town in Illinois, in 1928. A lovely book.

For those in the southern hemisphere, what better way to keep summer going than with summer books?
Starting June 4th at midnight and ending June 11th at 11:59 PM, read all you can!
