Greetings HunterI'm thrilled to have you here chatting with our group throughout June. I'm looking forward to getting to know your work.
I have been wanting to read 'We Are Always Watching' since I had Amazon send me a sample. As a horror freak, I've always loved ghost stories with dark secrets, haunted houses or places, & all manner of the creepy things that send most people screaming.
Welcome to Gore & More! Thank you for spending some time with us.
Hey everyone! Thanks for allowing me into your 'home' (you know what happens when you do that with vampires!). I'm looking forward to talking to all of you. I hope you enjoy the book. It's based on a real 'Watcher' case that's still going on in New Jersey. Naturally, I put my own unique spin on it. There's a terrible film version called The Watcher. I think it's still on Netflix. Rest assured, the movie and my book can't be further apart from one another. :)
*Ahem* I am going to pull out a phrase used often in my youth: "Dude, I am SO STOKED RIGHT NOW!" *cough* Sorry about that. It had to be said. Thanks so much for doing this, Hunter!

For those of you..."Wow, can I hire you to keep my spirits up? LOL Thank you so much for the kind words. I just have an overactive imagination and can type really fast. Looking forward to the fun this month!
Tim wrote: "Hunter is a fine lad and a great writer!"A fine lad indeed. Although growing up, I thought my name was 'schmuck'.

Thanks Sheri. I think you'll enjoy this one. It will definitely keep you guessing.

Thank you. I live in a haunted house, so my fiction is my escape from reality. :)
Shane wrote: "Wait. Hunter who? ;) Seriously, welcome brother. Looking forward to the discussion."Shane!! Happy to be here. Should be a blast.
Vicki wrote: "This book looks good! I just ordered my copy. Thanks for doing this Hunter!"
Thank you for grabbing one! Looking forward to this.
D20 wrote: "Welcome Hunter! I've read and enjoyed The Jersey Devil so I'm interested in this one."This is very different in tone than ol JD, but it is based on a real event in New Jersey!

LOL! If this were a vampire book, you could be STOKERED!
HUNTER: Dude, I GROANED for reals when I read your STOKERED pun- but it was with a smile on my face. --Jen from Quebec :0)
I'm a little late to the group, but what a book to start discussing! I pre-ordered the S/L of this one before I even knew the synopsis. INCREDIBLE!!!
If any of you are interested, my review of Hunter's book is here: https://www.horrortalk.com/reviews/bo...
I actually own a paperback copy of this (bought on the strength of the cover, and the fact I'd been looking to try Hunter's work), so I'm in!

Jason wrote: "This book was fantastic- highly recommended!"Thanks Jason. I know my mom tells everyone to read it. :)

Have a great time reading, "We Are Always Watching". It's a great story by a terrific horror author!
Hunter, can you tell us a little about the cover? Who designed it? How much input you had on it, etc?
Ken wrote: "Hunter, can you tell us a little about the cover? Who designed it? How much input you had on it, etc?"Great question! I was very impressed with the cover art--it really evokes the feeling that the story is going for.

Latasha wrote: "Just started reading. Haha, I'm picturing Grandpa as the Grandpa from the lost boys 😝"I used one of my own grandpas for old Abraham. Pleasant guy.
Ken wrote: "Hunter, can you tell us a little about the cover? Who designed it? How much input you had on it, etc?"The gorgeous cover is by one of the best artists in the biz today, Zach McCain. I was asked if I had any ideas for the cover and gave my two cents. He then took it, sketched out several versions and eventually painted the one you see. You can see how it all came to life right here : https://huntershea.com/2016/12/29/cov...
David wrote: "Only thirty pages in, but a very decent opening."It's a very different kind of opening for me, but it serves the story. Plus, I've always wanted to start a book with a Hemingway-esque first line.
Hi Hunter, I've just downloaded a copy of We Are Always Watching, so will make a start over the weekend. As others have said, great cover!
Well, I was just going to take a peek and ended up reading 10% (end of chapter 3).This is my kind of book and I have a feeling it is going to go fast.
A great start! The desperation of the family is really setting the mood.

Great! Yeah, when I saw that cover I said to my editor, "Damn, I hope the story is just as good!" :)

Awesome. I wanted something that reflected what a lot of people are going through today (despite what the news tells us...I travel a lot and I see the truth).
Kimberly wrote: "The Grandfather has to be one of my favorite characters, EVER. :)"I had the most fun writing him, and it required the most editing. The original Abraham was such a total jerk he was too one dimensional. I never tweaked a character more in any other book.
