Annie Pinto | 4 comments What book are you currently reading?
Was it a recommendation or your choice?

Annie Pinto | 4 comments I am currently reading The Zealot by Reza Aslan.
I wanted to read it after I saw a snippet of an interview with the author.

Mtnfeath | 3 comments At the moment, I'm reading "Small Favor" (book 10 in the Dresden Files) by Jim Butcher, a contemporary fantasy series set in Chicago. It's very fast-paced & an easy, fun read. The first book, Storm Front was a late Christmas present, but was initially a "Kobo recommendation". I enjoyed it so much, that I now just automatically buy the next book as I get to about 80% read... In the past, I've started reading series from early on in their publishing life & found myself anxiously waiting for the next book to come out, sometimes years! I'm really glad I came to this series late, as there's no waiting for the next instalment ~ yet! What will I read after Book 15??

Kylie Munday-Fuller (mundaykye) | 3 comments I'm mostly stuck in the one genre of book that may not appeal to anyone here but I'm reading Affliction (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #22) by Laurell K Hamilton.

Annie Pinto | 4 comments Series are fun - the waiting for a new one is agonising!
Is Butcher still writing that series - or all finished?

Kye, the only vampire book I've read is Dracula (far too many moons ago) and Twilight (I had to pre-read it before my barely a teenager son!)

Mtnfeath | 3 comments Just published the latest book in the series in May of this year, so hopefully still going Annie. He has also written another series which looks interesting though.

Kye, I love a good vampire story. Have read all the True Blood books, Twilight, Interview with a Vampire etc, as well as the classic, Bram Stoker's Dracula...

Kylie Munday-Fuller (mundaykye) | 3 comments I read maybe the first book of Twilight and while I didn't mind the writing style, I never really got into it... Twilight for me was no different than some of the other books I've been reading and at least with the other books they had something more than your typical storyline. Never read True Blood, was thinking about getting the first book but kinda busy with others series that people from TAFE suggested.

Amazing how TAFE Holidays saw the end of students using the social media sites... How's everything going for you Annie, Mtnfeath?

Oh, and it was a recommendation from a friend. She literally sent me home from her place with a bag of books.

Gothie BioVenom (gotherellabiovenom) ^ My friend did the same a few months ago, with the same book :p

I'm reading Strega by Karen Monahan Fernandes in paperback and Cress by Marissa Meyer on ebook :)

Mtnfeath | 3 comments Kye - Twilight was just because my daughter was reading them, so I felt obliged, but a lightweight fun read. True Blood is a little bit grittier than Twilight! Charlaine Harris' other series are an enjoyable read too, although I preferred the Harper Connelly books over the Aurora Teagarden series.

Bonnie - I read The Name of the Wind a few years ago now, with the same reaction as you. Absolutely loved it & couldn't wait for the second book to be published. Funnily enough, it was a recommendation from my then 15 year old son's best friend. Love that I can "talk" books with my kids AND their friends!

Just downloaded the latest (hopefully not LAST) book in the Dresden Files & will be looking for something else to read soon. Maybe Strega might be an option Gotherella??
