June 2014 Read-a-thon
Got commitments 2 of those 3 days but count me in anyway I will hopefully contribute some page count
I'm in, although, again, I have book club.....hosting this time, but baking well before the weekendmaybe one weekend readathon, I will be completely free to read!
Why not? As you say Brenda I'll be reading anyway so count me in. I think Saturday may be a wipeout for me as I have work and then we're out for dinner but there's still all of Friday and Sunday.
I'm in! Hopefully I won't be too sick this time! Looking forward to July, I will be on bed rest after having surgery so will just spend the days only reading haha
Count me in. Have no plans for that weekend so hopefully I can find a corner to curl up in and just read.

LOL. I'll remember this month. Mind you, won't get many pages from me on Friday other than what I read in my lunch break. May plan some late night reading to build it up a bit. Have 3 ARCs I need to read before the end of next week so will plan to get them done - or at least big inroads :)
I'm sure you'll get your ARCs done Sally:) You know you have to, as well as review them, so good luck!
Carolyn and I are going to buddy read again, for the second Anya Crichton book Without Consent by Kathryn Fox. I'm looking forward to reading that.
Brenda wrote: "Another great one Julie!"Yes, I think we're going to work our way through them all now we've started :)
Six and a half hours until we can all start people!!! Don't forget to record your pages read from midnight tonight;)
Have fun and read fast;P

I might have to putWives and Daughters to one side for the weekend. It is not a book I can read fast.
Agreed. The best books for this are modern ones with short chapters and gripping stories! Wives and Daughters has endlessly long paragraphs of dialogue :)
Brenda wrote: "Well I'm sure you'll read up a storm, going on your past performances:)"
I'm working all day Friday but I will give it my best shot the rest of the time!

Just updated my reads so can keep track. Won't be reading at midnight tonight but will make a start at lunch tomorrow :)
Phrynne wrote: "I might have to putWives and Daughters to one side for the weekend. It is not a book I can read fast."I'm going to do the same with The Light Between Oceans as I haven't really started it yet and want to focus on it.
I think I'm going to fall asleep before I get any started tonight, so will be ready to start tomorrow. I'd really like to get my June crime book Life After Life read over this weekend. I'm not too far in, and it seems quite slow, but I am determined!
Also will be starting tomorrow. Disadvantage: daughter will be home from school .. Advantage (ironically) car is broken down so will have plenty of time at home on what was going to be a very busy weekend
I'm hoping to get Pride and Prejudice finished and maybe also Sand Omnibus
Enjoy everyone!

Hopefully I won't wake tonight at 3.30am to the windows rattling in the wind, as I have the last few nights, but if I do, I'll make a start on the readathon! (Which annoying autocorrects to read argon)
No reports yet - but the books I will be finishing off this weekend are:Containment by Vanda Symon
Lily's Leap by Téa Cooper
The Hero by Robyn Carr
Then as I am more than half way through all of these, I have two more review books that I can start on when they are finished:
Skyfire by Skye Melki-Wegner
Breaking The Drought by Lisa Ireland
Except for Robyn Carr - they are all Aussie/NZ writers
Thanks to the barking dog next door that kept me awake to the early hours I managed to read 108 pages of North Star by Karly Lane

Our goal will be a total of 10,000 pages read by all who participate. (We slightly exceeded this total for May, so will keep it the same this month) If we exceed that total, we will possibly increase it for July.
Please post your interest here in this thread up until we begin the challenge - when the weekend is over the page number read will be tallied:)
If possible, check in at least once a day, more often if you want. Our cut off time for you to add your final totals will be 9am Monday 30th AEST (in case you fall asleep Sunday night;))
Good luck and have fun!
