Spirits are trapped inside this mansion. Therefore, they are unable to exit or talk to anybody who lives outside the dimension on the dead. Spirits do have special abilities though it takes a long time to master these abilities. Young Spirits are unable to lift objects but spirits that have lived as a spirit for an extended period of time can do as much as consume food and drink from the living world and moving thing without touching them. They can also reveal themselves vaguely to any human that enters the mansion. This skill though is for the oldest spirits and the most powerful. There are some cases of course where the young can do those thing. But as already said, these are special cases.
