With the new movie out, I think it's about time we started a thread about this movie/book series! Has anyone tracked down the books yet? I am still planning on reading them, but did not as of yet. Just saw the second movie though, and LOVED it...possibly even more than the first? I'm not sure! They are both really good!!!

Sam | 606 comments They are both terrific! I loved the original so much and had my doubts seeing the second but not enough to stop me seeing in cinemas... Great sequel and can't wait for the next instalment haha don't know where they will take us tho... All I can think of is finding more night furies, what do you think?

I agree!! I think with where the new one ended it would make sense them to start looking for new dragon colonies and such and eventually finding a whole colony of night furies. It could be this big important choice Toothless has to make if he wants to stay with the others like him or stay in Burke.

I have to say, with the new one I was shocked at how much tragedy there was in it! My friend was even more annoyed with it than I was, cuz I feel like in a movie with a "dragon army" and LOTS OF FIRE for there not to be any death at all is just unrealistic....

Sam | 606 comments Very true and very sad. I had a tear in my eyes! Just when he had found his love again :( but I understood the significance.

lysah | 31 comments I saw the movie today and I love it as well! my favorite part is when Hicupp's mom first sees him in the clouds and when she glades from dragon to dragon effortlessly! what are your favorite parts?

message 6: by lysah (new)

lysah | 31 comments Dana and Sam did either of you noticed that Drago's dragon skin he worn to protect himself from a dragon fire looked like a Night Fury's skin?

message 7: by Sam (new) - added it

Sam | 606 comments Oh no I didn't notice the skin! Good eyes!

Favourite parts were the practice flying with Hiccup right at the start while everyone else is playing the games. Also when his mum moves from dragon to dragon in a circle for sure. Loved Ruffnut's love battle all the way through the film!!

Landen | 73 comments You know...I never read the books because they were always to easy, being in middle school and reading at almost above college level.

I did not notice that about the skin at all either! For me the moment I loved the most were when Toothless would be doing something in the background when others were talking that was just perfectly hilarious! He reminds me of a cat so much, and I want to own him so bad! Also, when the other dragon was pretty much playing fetch on the boat! All the moments where the dragons become not just creatures but actual characters are just fabulous!! :D

Sam | 606 comments He reminds me of a cat too! Especially when he was trying to swat that ember in the air :D oh I loved when Stormfly was playing fetch and when she finally captured Eret!

YES!! That was it!! The ember! I could not remember what it was he was swatting, but I still have that mental image in my head so perfectly!!! Love it!!!

Don't feel bad! I only found out they were a book a few months ago! Still have not read them, but I love the movies SO MUCH!! The second was just as good as the first, if not better!

message 20: by Sheena (new) - added it

Sheena I can't wait to finally go see it. Hopefully I'll be able to this weekend! :-)

Love the movie! I haven't gotten around to the book yet, but I will one day. The movie is adorable, and I would like to see the second one. My husband hasn't yet seen the first though, so once he does, we will rent it.

Lyra (lyramarvelle) | 25 comments ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES EVERRR!!!

message 24: by Zara (new)

Zara (kittenhestia) I like the movies they are great but surprising the book... Sorta boring. Pretty slow. It's a rare occasion when I can say the movie is better. Especially I don't think the books even had Astrid! I read them a while ago.
