Bella sat in the corner of the attic reading an old copy of Pride and Prejudice she had found in a book case 50 years ago. She had read it over and over again, loving how Elizabeth new what to keep Darcy whipped. She loved the word whipped, she had heard that term from a new arrival two weeks ago and couldn't stop saying it to people. She laughed at her stupidity and laid the book down for a moment, getting her headd straight again.

Bella giggled to herself again, not realizing the new presence in the room. She was up to her favourite part in the book. She read the quote aloud to herself loving the sound of it to her ears "An unhappy alternative is before you, Elizabeth. From this day you must be a stranger to one of your parents. Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr. Collins, and I will never see you again if you do" She laughed to herself again, knowing she would never act this happy in front of any of the other spirits. She looked up from her book and jumped in fright at the spirit standing in the attic.

"It's, it's ok." She said, understanding the why the girl looked weary. She knew no one in the mansion would risk saying his name. It was one of the things that ran steady and true throughout all the spirits. Their dread over Don Angelo. She smiled at the girl recognising her from previous encounters in the past. "I've seen you around. I'm Bella. She stood up from her spot on her floor sitting the book within a little nook in the cracked wall. "Don't tell anyone I keep it here. Knowing one of the twins, they'll probably rip it up or something." She smirked and went to stand by the window to catch the breeze. Or anything from the outside world really.

Bella chuckled Rosette's words and put a hand to the icy window. She new it was cold, she could feel the cold in her mind and her form, but she just couldn't comprehend the feelings and sensations with it, with the actual feeling of being cold. This she had grown used to. That didn't mean she liked it any better. Unlike most people, she liked the feeling of cold more than heat. It had always made her feel energised and alive, even before she died. Bella blinked to herself, forgetting where she was for a moment. She did that way to often, go into deep thought and hut everyone else out. The funny thing was, she never used to be like that. "Do you like to come up here often?" She asked, turning to face Rosette.

"Yes I do, although I find it hard sometimes to choose between here or the built in green house. It's so beautiful. It's one of the few places in this god forsaken place that still is." She thought about how pretty it was. It was almost as if she was outside. The way she thought of it, she practically was outside. She could even she the animals as they climbed up the trees. and the water came through from the ceiling of the grrenhouse so that when it rained, them plants would be given life. "It's definitely hard to choose. I suppose here though when I want to read, though I'm thinking of starting Wuthering Heights next. I found a copy on the floor of the basement the other day."

"There's nothing to be afraid of in the greenhouse. It's perfectly harmless." She smiled back at Rosette, noting her pretty face. No, She scolded herself Not everyone likes girls as you do Bell She shook her head at herself in disgust forgetting that Rosette was still standing there. "If you ever find the time, go there, it's a wonderful sight for sore eyes." She giggled to herself. "Isn't that a funny expression, Sight for sore eyes" She looked down sadly "The worlds growing up so fast and I'm not there to experience it" She smiled at Rosette dismissing her comment. "Oh well, this is my life now. So why are you scared, if you don't mind my asking?"

"A cat? No, not that I can remember." She said, forgetting the previous conversation "Maybe you should check in places that a cat would hide. Like say for example, cracks in the walls that are big enough to fit a cat. Maybe even under couches or...Yes!" She got exited at the prospect of contributing and walked away from the window. "The cat might be stuck inside the piano, in the back behind the wood. Sometimes one of the spirits will attempt to kick at the wood and break it as practice to move physical objects. Maybe since it's partly broken, the cat hid in there but it can't get out." She smiled at Rosette, feeling pretty good about herself.

Kitty-Lydia Dye Whisper's mouth tasted like ash and sweltering blisters, then she licked her lips and the flavour vanished as though a breeze had stolen it from her...

She was kneeling in front of the attic door. She couldn't remember what had brought her here. The last thing the young woman remembered was Feathers' smiling, wind-slapped face as she promised to get her if something happened. Then Whisper had stepped into the house and...

Her memories had abandoned her as a bad dream packs its cases and runs out when morning arrives. Yet here she was in the house. She should have run back downstairs and out of the house but she wanted to look out of the window first. The thought of leaving this place actually felt repungent, like finding a slug in a chocolate pudding.

Whisper had heard voices as well. She entered the attic, uncertain of what she would find.

"H-Hello?"

Bella looked towards the sound of footsteps entering the attic and then a voice. She looked at Rosette and frowned a little. "Remember, Don't tell whoever it is about my books." She saw a girl enter, a rather pretty one at that. Bella bit her lip in annoyance. She had to do that didn't she? She just had to find two attractive women in the same room and both most likely straight. Why couldn't she be like Elizabeth and Mr Darcy, only in her case it would be with a Miss Darcy. She smirked to herself deep in though at the prospect. A Miss Darcy Would be nice. She strained herself to get back in reality and focused on the girl in the attic "Can I help you? We were just about to find her cat." She said, motioning towards Rosette.

Kitty-Lydia Dye Whisper felt her lips move but nothing came out. She grimaced. Her voice had a mind of its own, it liked to wander and stray. She tried again,
'Whisper,' she answered.

Her introduction complete she rushed to the window and peered out of it. Whisper looked for Feathers but she could not see her outside.
'Not here,' she mumbled to herself. 'Did she run away?' No, she thought to herself, Feathers wouldn't do that.

Whisper turned back to the two women and wrapped herself tighter in her leather jacket. They'd been talking about a cat.

'You're looking for a cat?' Whisper liked cats a lot, she had a stray tabby cat that liked to visit at night. She'd have to get home soon so she could leave a saucer out for him.

"Yes indeed, we are." She looked towards both Rosette and the new girl, Whisper and felt a surge of happiness as she realized she was making new friends. "I was just saying to Rosette here to look inside the piano. It's so small and tight, it could fit anything as tiny as a cat in it." She was about to turn towards the stairs when she remembered. "Oh, and I'm Bella. Bella Grace." She said, holding out her hand in pleasantries.

message 14: by Kitty-Lydia (new)

Kitty-Lydia Dye "Hello, Bella," Whisper replied and moved her hand forward to shake hands with the other woman.

She paused just before their hands touched. Ugly and violent looking, the crucifix scar on the back of her hand seemed to throb. Whisper put her hand back into her pocket and smiled weakly. Her earlier dizzy spell had made her forgetful, even though it was her dominant hand she never used it to shake hands with!

"I have quite small hands," she said to Rosette. "Perhaps I can reach into this piano and see if your cat is in there."

Whisper shuffled her feet and blushed. The two, very beautiful, very attractive, women seemed older than her somehow. She couldn't quite remember why that might be.
Why did I even go into this house? she silently wondered.

message 15: by Kitty-Lydia (new)

Kitty-Lydia Dye ''Died?'' Whisper swallowed and found that her mouth was dry. ''What are you talking about? I'm not dead, got the stupid scar years ago, my girlfriend's outside. Once we find the cat I can leave, forget about this place, and... why are you here? I thought this place was abandoned?'' she was babblingt, she expected her tongue to drop off as she'd barely said a word this week, let alone this many sentences!

What had happrened to her?

''Let's just find your cat.''

Feathers was waiting for her. She had to hurry... right?

"Bella looked back and forth between them as Rosette laid out the truth for Whisper. She sighed, not knowing what to say to contribute. "It's not so bad, being dead I mean. The only thing is...is that you have to keep away from Do..." Don Angelo. She thought in her head, catching herself in time. "Ahhh, we don't like to speak his name around here. Bad luck you, seeing as he killed us and all. You included." She glanced at Whisper sympathetically wanting to hug her better.

message 17: by Kitty-Lydia (new)

Kitty-Lydia Dye Whisper scratched her cheek, quietly taking in what she had heard and forcing herself not to reject the idea.
"Dead," she murmured. "I feel like I've been asleep for awhile... she's gone, isn't she?"

Feathers hadn't even bothered to come after her... unless she was dead too? No, Whisper felt as if she would know if her girlfriend was dead. Feathers had simply abandoned her like everyone else did. Whisper smiled wryly.

"I guess I should have expected this. It's a wonder I didn't die a lot sooner." She swallowed, face a little strained as it finally sunk in. "Better dead with company than dead alone. Shall we go get your cat, so he or she isn't alone too?"

Her eyes flicked to the window, as if she hoped Feathers would suddenly appear and call out her name.
