I absolutely hate it when you pick up on something like that and can't un-notice it!Like, I love Sarah J Maas, but she does this thing that pulls me out of her books EVERY time where she says like:
Now. I need to get there now.
or:
Fear-- I could feel nothing but fear.
Once I noticed it, across all 8 books of her's that I've read I find my eye twitching every time.
I wish I would have waited before reading this because now the glass has shattered hahaha. Wish me luck!
You guys are too funny. I've had that happen before. I didn't really notice it in this book. I bet if I re-read it I wouldn't be able to unnotice it. Overall I liked the book. It was an easy read that I can just finish in four days. I'd be willing to read the sequel. I also thought it was nice that she added an index for all of the traditional words. I learned a few new things.

Unfortunately, Ahdieh's writing style is really hard for me to slug through. I just cannot deal with all the paragraphs that go (for example, not actual text), 'I wanted to run. Run far away from here. From my problems,' and, 'I could feel tears on my cheeks. Tears for everything I'd lost. For the future I couldn't have.'
At first I thought I could deal with the sentence structure being like this, but when it happens about three times a page, it starts to grate my nerves. I couldn't enjoy the story because I was too caught up in how irritated it was making me. I thought it really detracted from the story (for me personally), and I'm going to have to mark this one as DNF at 34 pages.
