Short Story Review Group 4 (finished)
I'd like to have The Gate Guardian's Daughter be added to this review group. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35...
Thanks!
Just FYI - Chance and Angel have read a different book of mine so I can't read theirs, but they can read this one. ☺️ thanks!
I would like to join. Please add A Crime of Honor to the group.Note-I have already read J.B Trapaigner's novella.
I'll join with one of the stories from The Wrong Time. I'll send the link a bit later. It's a collection of short fiction, so if I have to choose which story, I'll go with the first one, The Filmmaker and the Sceptor
BTW, I'm in the process of writing the review of Angel's excellent story, Sky's Lure. I've also met all the others signed in to this group so far, though not theirs or my current entries. If you think it's best, I could sit this one out, as there's only one more slot.
Hi,I'm interested in joining this review group. Is romantic erotica acceptable? If so, the link to my short story is right here -

JB already reviewed it.
Thanks.

We have an author that has submitted a work described as romantic erotica. Are there any authors who are not willing to review a work in this category?

On another point, I have just finished a short story myself. I would like to participate in this group as an author. Do any of the current participants feel uncomfortable with the moderator also participating as an author?

I don't have a problem with it but I'm pretty sure Tassa reviewer another book of mine so I can't read hers. Thanks!
No problems with the moderator participating. I could read and review the erotic one, but it's not a great fit for my audience/brand...
Here's the link to my book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...On the other matters under discussion: I'm probably not making the scheduling of assignments any easier by saying I'd prefer not to review erotica. On the other point, I am not opposed to the moderator joining as a reviewer. I suppose one way out might be to expand this group beyond the usual six as some of the other groups have been doing?
Since you asked:I have no issue with author/moderator combo.
I'd rather not read erotica.
Status:
I read KT, JB, and Angel, but not current submitted work.
Robby has read my work, but not Longhorn.
No history with Tristen.

What is the name of the story from this book that will be reviewed in this group?

I have no issues with a mod participating. Like what was already posted, I've already reviewed Tassa's short story, but don't have a problem reviewing any genre. Chance has reviewed me before, but not this short story
I suggest the first one in the book, titled The Filmmaker and the Sceptor. No particular reason except that I'm asked to choose one. If the assignee wants to do a different one, I'm okay with it.
No problem with a moderator joining the group. I'd rather not review the Erotica but will do so if that's how everything falls out.

We now have eight participants. I will be posting the schedule of review in a few days. If there is any conflict not already noted, please let me know as soon as possible.

In my earlier comment where I said I had been paired with all but one of those signed up up to that point, I mistakenly included JB, as I had her mistaken for another JB.So, I've reviewed R and Chance, I am currently reviewing Angel, and KT has reviewed me.
I'm not sure of the schedule, but it looks like JB is scheduled to read my short story. But JB has already reviewed "Call Me Lady".

A tentative schedule has been posted in the initial post of this topic. It does not start until June 22, because I want to give everyone a chance review it and let me know about any conflicts I missed. (There were a lot of conflicts.) So do not get a review copy of your first round assignment until June 22. Also, these groups are normally scheduled for two months (One month for each round.) I scheduled this one for two months, because that is what it says in the description. However, since these are short stories, there is no reason that we cannot finish early.

Ah, whoops! Reviewed the schedule and there are no conflicts for me, but I realized I submitted the wrong book for review. I meant to add Banned, not Skye's Lure (which is novella size, not short story size). Erg. Apologies. Can't believe I'm just realizing this. :P

Correction made. No problem.

This is Short Story Review Group 4. (This includes works in all genres that are 15,000 words or less.) As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the works assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.
Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. The review should be posted to Amazon (US and UK) as well, if the work is available there. This makes having accounts with both Goodreads and Amazon.com a requirement.
Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work. Note that Amazon has made a minor change in how reviews are displayed. As long as a review that is not verified as a purchase is recent, it will be displayed on the book's Amazon page. Once it rolls off, it will still be counted in the ranking of the book, but the link to show more reviews has been modified by Amazon to show only reviews that come from verified purchases. Authors may consider gifting their book to assigned reviewers so that they will qualify as verified purchases. Reviewers may bypass this limitation by offering to purchase the books assigned to them. All of this is voluntary. Authors may still provide review copies for free, and reviewers can still post reviews to Amazon that are not from a verified purchase. This change in Amazon policy has no effect on Goodreads.
Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews. Authors may respond to reviews, but any form of harassment or anger directed at reviewers will be treated as a violation of the terms of service for this group.
If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.
If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.
Note that any participant who makes no effort to fulfill his or her commitment to this group will have all reviews of his or her work resulting from this group deleted and his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Group will be terminated.
