Anita Pomerantz | 9306 comments Please vote for the tag you would most like to read for July at the following link:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BCRLV6V

You may click on the answer choices in the survey to see a listing of books that fit each tag.

Remember, you may cast up to a total of 10 participation points for your choice. Everyone gets one vote for free so please vote even if you don't have any participation points!

You can see how many participation points you currently have in the spreadsheet below.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Happy voting! Please cast your votes by 12 pm EST on 06/23.

Note: If no one choice receives more than 50% of the vote, people who chose the least popular choice will be asked to recast their votes for one of the remaining two options.

Susie Done. An easy choice this month.

message 4: by Marina (new)

Marina (sonnenbarke) I voted. I was unsure between two of the tags, but decided to vote for the easier one...

Amy | 12982 comments This time I didn't even look at the shelves! I probably have something for all three, but just went with the easiest.

message 9: by LibraryCin (new)

LibraryCin | 11753 comments I have one with nothing! That doesn't happen very often.

message 10: by Joi (new)

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments I have a feeling the "easy" one will get over 50% of votes this month.

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments These are some difficult tags for me so I had to do a little research...

For Arabic, I stumbled across this website: https://theculturetrip.com/middle-eas...

Which also informed me there is an International Prize for Arabic Fiction. Thought I would throw it out there since the books could potentially fit two tags.

The normal shelf link I use only had titles in the Arabic language, so I had to do some poking around Goodreads to find a list of potential reads.

Thank you for sharing another one, Nicole! If anyone else finds good lists, please share . . .

Amy | 12982 comments I think we'd all be reading Salt Houses if that tag won! Except for Tracey who was the first to get to it.

message 15: by Meera (new)

Meera This might not be the right place for this question...how often does the participation point spreadsheet get updated? I'm new and have only written one review so far but just wondering.

Hi Meera! The participation point spreadsheet gets updated once a month, and usually on the first of the month. So right now, it includes all the reviews that have been written through May. Did you write your first review in June? If so, on July 1, you will receive the points. If you wrote the review earlier than that, please let me know! It is always possible I may have missed it . . .and I'm happy to hear about any errors so I can correct them.

The voting always takes place around the middle of the month so your points from the prior month will be available for the vote.

In the meantime, everyone receives a single vote to use whether or not they have participation points, so please do vote this month!

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8458 comments I just want to verify

Everyone gets one free vote.

But if we have points to spend, we can cast up to 10 votes ... does that mean we use 9 points (added to the 1 free one) for a total of 10 votes.

Or does that mean we can cast an ADDITIONAL 10 votes (for a total of 11 votes)?

I think it's the first one, but I just can't remember.

Ditto, but not retired yet. I've got plenty to choose from there, but it is not exactly pleasure reading.

message 29: by Jgrace (new)

Jgrace | 3963 comments I do read professional books sometimes. Education remains a hot political topic and I have an informed interest. I like to know what I'm talking about. But it is not what I read for pleasure.

message 30: by Jen (new)

Jen | 1545 comments I liked two of the options but went with the one that was a harder choice for me.

message 31: by Anita (new)

Anita Pomerantz | 9306 comments You may cast up to 10 votes, but if you cast 10, 1 is free and then the remaining 9 are deducted from your account.

I was wondering the same thing. I am not new, but don't post often. I have written a few reviews this year. I previously had points, but my name is not on the list.

You are definitely there, Hahtoolah. You are row #30, and your points are listed under the column entitled "May". Please let me know if you continue to have trouble finding it!

You can still count it if YOU think it fits.

The only time it has to have been previously tagged is when we're playing a tag-specific game.

What a great list. I don't think I have anything! for Arabic and that surprises me - I thought I had at least one for every tag out there! So, if it's Arabic, this will be my go to list!
