T.C. Slonaker | 83 comments So... what's happening that you'd like to tell us about?

message 2: by Lacey (new)

Lacey (crazdwriter) I'm finally sitting down and reading again lol. But life is so busy I only read kid books these days. Trying to get my daughter to be a book worm like her mommy and daddy. She is currently in a kid gym class, swim lessons, and we go out walking a lot or do art at home or go to the gym for me so I don't feel like I have time to read. Then times I do I don't because I feel like I need to be writing. Plus that cruel word distractions keep pushing itself on me lol

But all is well here so far. Just waiting for hubby to get orders for our move to Ca. It's taking forever!!!

T.C. Slonaker | 83 comments The time will come! My kids are 15, 13, and 10. When they were little, I could just laugh at the idea of reading an adult novel. That was the time when I started writing for kids myself. Now that they are older, I feel like I CAN read a book once in a while (and still have a little time to write too.) Not too long ago, I read Gone with the Wind for the first time!
Glad to hear all is well. Hope you get those orders soon, though! Waiting is just no fun.

T.C. Slonaker | 83 comments Hey friends, can I just say how cool this is to have so many people interacting here? Thanks so much! (That goes for you, too, those of you who are reading but not commenting. Just glad you are visiting!)

T.C. Slonaker | 83 comments I am getting ready to send out my first author newsletter! Anyone interested, please send me your email address.

message 6: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 13 comments Very busy with work, and our littlest one (2 1/2 yo, the other four are grown and gone). We are still active in our church but we just recently "retired" from leading our youth ministry after 10 years to be able to focus more on our baby girl. She has developmental delays with autistic traits and takes a lot of our focus at the moment. Any and all prayers are appreciated.

I finally published the 2nd book in my Christian crime series, The Foley Chronicles. I am now plugging away on book 3. I also have book 0.1 in rough draft form for a side series called The Dark Side of Foley, as well as two works for a short story collection called A Series of Minis, which can be found on my blog page.

Hope all is well with everyone hanging around here. TC, would like to sign up for your newsletter - send me a PM for my email if you are still wanting to send them out

T.C. Slonaker | 83 comments You've got me beat, Nathan, my husband and I led youth group for 8 years! (Prayers for your daughter!)

Congratulations on getting out your second book!!! Please post a link to it here so people can check it out. (And your first too.)

message 8: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 13 comments Thanks for the prayers. Eight years is still a good run, TC. Any amount of time we get to pour into the lives of our youth is worth it, to them and us.

We were fortunate enough to see all four of our older kids through our youth ministry, and had plenty of great mission trips and summer camps to fill our memory baskets.

During some of our best times we spent a week in DC doing a prayer walk, a week in Costa Rica ministering to the underprivileged, a week in Northern California putting on a VBS for a church planter our church supports, and multiple week long trips to Montgomery, AL doing VBS and block parties with Shepherd's Staff, an outreach ministry to the underprivileged in that city.

Nathan Bush | 13 comments Hey TC, I saw on one of the other threads that you like holocaust stories. Story #1 for A Series of Minis might be one you'd like, it's on my blog page that's listed on my previous post

message 11: by T.C. (new)

T.C. Slonaker | 83 comments Ooo, thanks, Nathan. I will check that out after I finish with this one. I'm intrigued at the moment with Eddie...

message 12: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 13 comments If you are intrigued with Eddie, I have his interview with Ember Winters on my blog page. It gives a little insight into who he is and how he thinks.

message 13: by T.C. (new)

T.C. Slonaker | 83 comments I may need to wait a little until I'm further in the book, just so there's no spoilers. But, please, share the link for that!

message 14: by Tammy (new)

Tammy (stampingtammy) | 30 comments I enjoy holocaust stories too. Will check it out.

message 15: by Tammy (new)

Tammy (stampingtammy) | 30 comments Story #1 was great. Definitely left me wanting to read more of the backstory. Have you written anymore about these characters?

message 16: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 13 comments @TC - the link is posted in message #8, and I don't think there's any kind of spoilers in it

@Tammy - thank you. no they are only in the single short story. I actually wrote the three stories as part of a game I was involved in with some other authors
