This week on June 19 we will also be having our first Teen Event of the summer. I hope that you're as excited about this week's Cookies and Karaoke event as I am!
As always, please sign up in advance for this program by visiting, calling (262-691-5670, ex. 32), or e-mailing the library.
Don't want to sing? That's fine. Every performer needs a good audience, so please come anyway.

This week's Teen Event is the Egg Drop! Build a contraption that will (hopefully) protect a egg from a dangerous fall. We'll be dropping our eggs in the library from the main floor down to the lower level. How many eggs do you think will go SPLAT? Will yours survive the fall?

This week's Teen Event is a movie! Thanks to everyone who suggested movies that we could show. Popular demand has insisted that we show the movie based on the book Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.
This is a very long movie. If we want to finish the movie before the library closes, then we will need to start a bit earlier than usual! You are welcome to arrive at 6:30 if you can't get here earlier, but the movie will begin at 6:00!

This week is the last week of the 2014 Summer Reading Program! Be sure to visit the library on or before Saturday, August 2 to collect all of your prizes! Winners for the Teen Reading Raffle will be selected on August 4.
Since the Summer Reading Program is drawing to a close, we have two great programs taking place this week. On Thursday, July 31 the Science Alliance will be here with some hands-on activities to try. They're also bringing a hoverboard. I don't know about you, but I'm super excited to see the hoverboard in action!
The grand finale for the summer will take place on Friday, August 1 at 4:30 pm: Angry Birds LIVE! Have you played Angry Birds before? We're going to create a life-size version of the game by constructing structures out of cardboard boxes. Then we'll fling balls at the structures and try to knock them over. Pizza and Kona Ice will also be served, so come hungry!
Registration for both of these programs is required! Visit or call the Children's Desk to sign up.

The 2014 Teen Summer Reading Program has officially ended! Thanks to everyone who participated. This year's program was better than ever. It was great chatting with so many of you about the books that you have been reading, and I loved seeing so many of your faces at our Teen Events. Tank you!
Winners for the Teen Reading Raffle were selected yesterday, and winners have all been notified. If you received a call from us saying that you won a prize, please come to the Children's Desk when you can and pick it up.

Don't forget that today (June 16) is the first day that you can visit the library with your reading booklets and collect prizes. Hope to see you at the library soon!
