Awesome! I'd love to see something like that here.

We installed a neighbourhood book exchange at the end of the driveway in September 2016. They are very uncommon here, so many people don't know what to make of it at first. Ours isn't nearly as large as the one in the link in Almeta's message. Most books moving in and out are kids books so far, but adult books seem to be getting more attention recently. It has been a great way to share books and get to know the neighbours.

In Belgium we have lots of them too. It's a real hit here.

There are several around town. I'd need to drive about 10 miles to get there. Most hold I'd guess about 20 books if full. Some are pretty fancy and by fancy I mean a lot of glass. I think they like to make them so the books inside are highly visible to draw more attention .

When we moved here 6 years ago we had 3 little libraries around. By now we have more than 10! They dare all small, with around 20-25 books each.

That's a great book exchange, Almeta! I love how creative he was with it.

Way to go starting your own, TrudyAn. I've considered doing that, but have no idea where I'd put it. I don't know of any that we have locally.

There is at least one little library in the city where I work. I often take a shortcut through a residential neighborhood when going to a certain area of town and I've seen one there. Quite possibly there are more in other neighborhoods of the city, I just don't travel that direction.

Where I actually live is so rural, I don't think one would ever be used.

I vaguely remember posting a picture of a book swap in an old telephone box in one of the villages I'd moored in a year or so back. Since then I've seen another 2 which have been set up in old phone bozes, always in small villages in rural areas. There is also one in a shed on a mooring near a swing bridge on the canal.

I would love to have a Tardis anywhere near me! That's such a great idea. I don't know of any free libraries near me. I should try and find out. I live on a cul-de-sac so setting one up near my house would be too limiting, plus I'm not handy.
