Thanks for the info 👍🏼
Thanks for the info. I just activated a Kindle Unlimited acct that I received as a gift. I'll be sure to keep my eyes open. Question for Vintage: did these charges also show up on your Amazon acct or did the books appear to be free on that end?
They were Kindle Unlimited so free if you have Prime, but a small charge without it. I may have been on the wrong link when I purchased them.
Not all KU books are free for prime members. There's a service called "Prime Reading" but there isn't entire overlap. (Unless they've changed this recently.)
I looked at a random Kindle Unlimited book and on the side...
Both buttons look similar-ish apart from the text on them. Perhaps on a tablet or cell phone, it'd be harder to notice the differences? Or if people aren't paying attention?
I am going to guess that the purchase button was clicked by accident, since the lower prices given in the OP seem to match other KU books for purchase (they seem to be 0.99 to 3.99).
I haven't had any issue yet. Prime and Kindle Unlimited are different. I subscribe to both. Asterope is right. You have to be careful which button you click.Luckily, I haven't encountered a problem, yet. But I'll be on the lookout. Vintage thanks for letting us know.

I was just going through my VISA charges and noticed even more from Amazon than usual, $1.06 here and $3.20 there. I had about six charges from the last six weeks of Kindle Unlimited books that were charged the regular amount It wasn't that much, but the books were supposed to be free.
