Characters: Musical vs. Book

I think that some of the character's personalities (especially Alexander Hamilton's) were a little bit skewed. It made him seem more like a vulnerable schoolboy than a colonel. Of course, this may be my false perception of Alex while listening to the soundtrack, but I felt like Lin-Manuel Miranda presented him as a little bit rougher around the edges. I would love to hear other opinions, though.

I feel like Eliza was the stronger female character in the book, while Angelica was the stronger female character in the musical.
(I'm going to mention contrasts I found between the book and the actual non-fic bio)
Alexander was weak. He had absolutely no drive and let people humiliate him. And Eliza had no personality. Her spunky, active, just overall likability was better in both the non-fic and the musical compare to the book.
Not saying the book was bad, but I was really looking for historical love story that at least represented the characters.

Forget the musical, let's talk history.
deleted member is right, they were stronger in the musical. They were also a little closer to their historical versions (not entirely, but closer). In this book I feel like De La Cruz didn't really research their personalities, making them seem decidedly weak and nothing like themselves. I stay up late reading biographies, though, so maybe my expectations were too high. ;)
