Bronte Butko Will Clara Gardner complete her purpose? Who will she save from the fire first out of both of the boys she’s in love with? Cynthia Hand, the author of unearthly, has taught writing at Pepperdine University in Southern California for almost 8 years. She also has graduate degrees for creative writing from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and the Boise State University. The novel Unearthly is a part of a series called boundless.
Unearthly is the first book, the second novel is called hallowed and the last novel of the series is called boundless.
Unearthly is part of the fantasy genre and it tells the story of Clara Gardner, a teen who has learned that her, her brother Jeffrey and her mother are all part angel, also known as angel-bloods. Clara's gist of being both part human and part angel grants her many extraordinary talents and skills, and also gives her a purpose to complete. Her purpose is the reason why she’s been put on the earth, she has to complete it. After getting visions of the back of a boy and his avalanche and a forest fire, Clara ends up meeting the boy, Christian Prescott, before the forest fire and watches over him. She also becomes friends, with a girl called Wendy Avery, and Wendy's brother Tucker Avery and another angel-blood called Angela.
As the novel resumes, Clara develops love for both Christian and Tucker equally, Clara has a fight with dark angels which are angels who have fallen from heaven and disobeyed God, and she tries to discover her purpose on Earth despite all of her challenges.
Throughout the series, Clara deals with the loss of her mother and discovers that she is one of the only seven triplares in the world, which means she is three quarters angel and has powers that exceed that of angel-bloods who are 1 quarter angel.
Personally, Clara was my favourite character in the novel because she is strong and independent and also the one you learn most about in the novel since its written in her perspective. My favourite part of the novel was when Clara and Christian meet because it was the part I had been waiting for throughout the whole novel. My favourite thing about the novel is that it was written almost perfectly and I couldn’t put the book down, I would spend hours at a time reading it and would get onto the next book after 2-3 days because I was so interested in it. I recommend this novel for people who enjoy reading about the supernatural or vampires and werewolves because the angels transform like them and have the same sort of gifts and extraordinary talents as vampires and werewolves, I also recommend this novel for people between the ages of 12 and 17.
Unearthly is a heartrending story of love and fate, and the fight between following the rules and following your heart.

Montanna I like that you mentioned so much information from the book but didn't give away any spoilers that were in the book. The set out and slanguage conventions that you used to describe the novel was good because it flowed from paragraph to paragraph. The way you were describing it was really good because you grabbed my attention right away and I wanted to read the book straight away. You stated your opinion on the novel and it sounded like you were very strong about your opinion. I like how you said what your favourite part in the novel was, I have to say I agree with you about it because it was the part I was most looking forward to as well. You pointed out who would be interested in it and that would be really helpful for most people so they can find the book that suits them.
