Hmmm... does anyone still check this group? I hope so...I play the flute and I've played it for about 4 years now. I'm upgrading my flute, and right now I'm trying to decide between a Trevor James flute or an Altus flute. I like how both of them play, I just can't decide which one. They are both amazing so I don't know how to choose. Anyone have any experience with either of these brands? What flute brand do you play?
I just got a Trevor James for Christmas it makes a really beautiful sound and is nice to play, compared to the yamaha I used to have. However, I dunno if anyone has had this problem before, I played it for my family on boxing day, then after new year I brought it out to get back to practising! However when I brough it out there are black marks under and around a couple of the keys( one under a pinky key, one around one of the sort of thin strips near the end of the middle section)... any help? I'm worried because the flute is brand new and I want it to stay beautiful and shiny! There are also some orangey marks appearing down the side...ay ideas?
I just have an older Artley. I love the sound, although it does have "bad days" where I can't get a good tone. I've been playing for 6 years, and just love it!
Okay Elfatemywaffel (nice name)! For the black under the keys, there are five dollar cleaning kits (I get mine at Heid Music) that have a small bristle brush in it. Use that to clean the keys.
Flute is my fave instrument I play. Is it alright if I become mod?
I know right! It's AMAZING!!! I remember in 6th grade, when I started band, being so proud that I could play Mary Had A Little Lamb. I thought that I was the only one who was good and the rest of the band was AWFUL!!! Turns out I was too!
