Sarah G. (thesarahg) | 77 comments Greetings all. I was curious if anyone has any good recs for books with "shy" or more "beta-type" heroes. Lately I have gotten completely burnt out on the whole A-Hole Alpha archetype and there seems to be an abundance of them on Amazon. I would honestly love to read a book about a guy who is the opposite of that. I can't be the only one who finds a guy who is a little bit nerdy and "awkward" to be cute right?

The only book that I've read that has a hero that falls into a similar category would be The Red Scot (A Curvy Girls Club Novel, #1) by Twyla Turner

Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions you guys may have.

J.J. Murray (johnjmurray) | 11 comments Most of my books (36) contain non-alphas. Some have more testosterone than others (the boxer in THE REAL THING, the handyman in LET'S STAY TOGETHER), but for the most part, my heroes are regular guys. My latest Kensington novel (NO ORDINARY LOVE) stars my shyest hero. Here is a link that will take you to my Amazon page ( https://www.amazon.com/J.-J.-Murray/e... ), and here is a link to my website ( http://johnjeffreymurray.com ).

Barbara James Hi,

There hero of my first novel (newly released) is definitely on the introverted side, and although he has the background and looks of an "alpha" hero (military), he is more of the beta type, looking for a long term girlfriend and marriage.

Regards,

Barbara.

The hero in Dark Thirst (The Brethren, #1) by Sara Reinke is another IR featuring beta hero. It's PNR.

Dave Malkoff from Suzanne Brockmann Troubleshooter sereies is my nerdy baby. He's no pushover either.
