Today, I will finish sharing what our pastor learned at the conference.
Build the wall in front of your house.
Nehemiah 3:28-30 Above the Horse Gate, the priests made repairs, each in front of his own house. Next to them, Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his house. Next to him, Shemaiah son of Shekaniah, the guard at the East Gate, made repairs. Next to him, Hananiah son of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section. Next to them, Meshullam son of Berekiah made repairs opposite his living quarters.
Repair the breach in the wall in front of you or take care of your responsibilities, your life, your calling, and to witness to the souls in front of you.
Envying others or their callings is wasting time we could be using to build up our own lives and callings.
To be envious of somebody else or their calling is to tell God that He doesn't know how to do His Job!
Isaiah 58:12 And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.
Everytime you work on the foundation of your calling, your life, you are effecting the world for generations. Every block laid, every soul saved changes the life of that person and each person he/she meets.
Generations of a family are changed by the salvation of the person(s) that were saved because you witnessed to them and followed your calling from God.
Luke 16: 10 He that is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much: and he that is unrighteous in a very little is unrighteous also in much.
We must learn to be thankful for the blessings we already have before we will receive more.
What God blessed you with is not just for you alone but is to be poured out on others.
Love should drive us not fear.
Love well and watch the world around you change!
God Bless You. May you celebrate the freedom you have to worship God and pray for those that do not share that precious freedom.

Freedom in ChristDevotional for Tuesday ~ 4 July 2017 /10 Tamuz 5777 (Updated 7/6/2017)
Today is the 241st celebration of the birth of the United States of America. And it is only by the grace of God that this nation has any semblance of freedom left! There are debates about whether this is a “Christian” nation that was founded upon the word of God, but there is absolutely no denying that God had His hand on these United States from the very beginning!
As I consider what has become acceptable in this county, it is evident to me that there has been a “great falling away” from the truth, and what is right—not only morally and legally speaking, but more importantly spiritually speaking as well. True freedom is so misunderstood, and has been neglected by those who have been entrusted to guard it, from the preacher all the way to the highest officials in this land!
Freedom is not free! In fact, it is extremely costly! Many courageous souls have given their lives in order to secure freedom for others in this country and beyond, but it is so unappreciated by many! Furthermore, Jesus Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice in order to offer eternal freedom to whomsoever would believe in Him. Yet Jesus is continually rejected, unacknowledged, and misunderstood by so many, even among professing Christians!
Freedom was never meant to be a license for people to say and do any vile thing that comes to their hearts or minds! Furthermore, to be “free in Christ,” does not give Christians the freedom to continue in sin. Faithful Christians who are truly committed to Christ will hate sin and turn from it, and earnestly seek to be pleasing to God in word and deed.
Yes, Christians will make mistakes. Yes, Christians can be led astray. Yes, Christians can believe lies in place of the truth. But for those of us who are truly “born again” and have a heart to follow God, He will convict us of our sin, He will lead us into righteousness, and He will show us proper judgment. And as the Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth, then we--the righteous--can truly love and worship God in Spirit and in Truth, as He so desires of His people!
I am a living testimony of what Almighty God can do for a lost soul! I am so thankful that God saved me from the Enemy, and I will be forever grateful to my dear LORD!
I am convinced that only genuine followers of the Lord Jesus Christ will be able to hold out to the end no matter what may come! I just pray for that great Day when truth and justice will prevail! Until then, may we—my brothers and sisters in Christ—be found true and faithful to our great and glorious God who loves us! And He proved His great love for us at the cross!
With the love of Christ,

Please prayerfully consider this passage about true Freedom in Christ!
John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:13 The Pharisees therefore said unto Him, Thou bearest record of Thyself; Thy record is not true.
John 8:14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of Myself, yet My record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
John 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
John 8:16 And yet if I judge, My judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent Me.
John 8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
John 8:18 I am one that bear witness of Myself, and the Father that sent Me beareth witness of Me.
John 8:19 Then said they unto Him, Where is Thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know Me, nor My Father: if ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also.
John 8:20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as He taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on Him; for His hour was not yet come.
John 8:21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go My way, and ye shall seek Me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
John 8:22 Then said the Jews, Will He kill Himself? because He saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
John 8:23 And He said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.
John 8:25 Then said they unto Him, Who art Thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
John 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him.
John 8:27 They understood not that He spake to them of the Father.
John 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father hath taught Me, I speak these things.
John 8:29 And He that sent Me is with Me: the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.
John 8:30 As He spake these words, many believed on Him.
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Wednesday Devotion entitled "Breath and be Still"Recently, I made myself ill because I ended up over doing things. I ended up over doing things because I was very busy, took on too much and didn't pace myself properly or take care of myself physically or spiritually properly, neither did I take enough time out and rest time. Naturally all this had a negative effect on me.
Then God caught my attention. Through a beautiful song we were learning in our Salvation Army choir called "Breath", God broke through my busy turmoil and weariness and reminded me very clearly what I was neglecting to do. I was neglecting taking proper time out to be still and be with God.
The song spoke of not just stopping to find a quiet place to be still, but to also actually breath and be still. One line of the song in particular stood out to me, "When you're still, you can refill all that daily life has taken". Through this God pointed out to me that I'm a wreck because I haven't been still, and I can't be refilled unless I stand still, breath and let Him refill me. So, God, through this song brought me back to my senses and I made the changes I needed to make to find a quiet place, breath and be still with God, not only so that He could "refill all that daily life has taken" but also so that I can spend quality time with Him.
This whole experience also reminded me of Isaiah 40 vs 31 "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
God bless you all. Find a quiet place, breath and be still.
Thanks for this reminder to breathe and just be with the LORD

2 Peter 3: 14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.
17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.
18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
Just as Peter said above, the Bible at times is hard to understand. Like a child learning to read her first book, a christian obtains more knowledge, wisdom, and understanding each time Scripture is read. Reading the Bible is as much a part of your survival as water, food and air.
Be diligent, people will distort Scripture, sometimes because they misunderstood it, sometimes because they are repeating what they heard without fact checking and sometimes because they are trying to mislead you.
I am not good at memorizing Scripture, book, chapter and verse. I memorize it and retain it for a few months and then it slips away. I trust that God has created my brain to store those verses in my long term memory and when they are needed, I will remember just like I remember how to spell a word I had on a spelling test in 6th grade but haven't used since. As long as I do my part and continually prayerfully read and study Scripture, I am confident that God's Word will come to me in time of trouble. I am confident that the Holy Spirit within me will see to that.
Isaiah 55:11 So shall My Word be that goes out from My Mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in Him.
Don't get me wrong, I need to do my part, I need to prayerfully read & study Scripture. I need to abide in the LORD. What I don't need to do is to worry over what Bible book, chapter or verse it came from. Those things are added by men to help us locate certain passages and I can find them on the internet if needed. I trust God to bring to my mind when needed, the Scripture I have read and studied just as the Bible says He would.
Don't trust me on this; prayerfully read and study Scripture and find out for yourself if it is God's truth.

Hi Rita Faye,
There is a lot of wisdom in your words. Thank you for expounding upon why it is so important to read and study the word of God. We surely need a clear understanding of God's Word in order to survive this life, and praise God He has given us His Holy Spirit to teach us! And He will lead and guide us into the truth if we would only learn to trust Him.
I am fixing to post my Tuesday devotion (even though it is Wednesday). I did not realize until today that I completely forgot about posting a devotional yesterday. I have been so busy with appointments for my husband that I let Tuesday just pass me by without getting on my computer.
I must say, you gave me a good topic to speak about. :) May you and others by blessed by my "addendum" to your devotional.
I hope you have a good rest of your week! Take care and God bless!
Sincerely,
C.
Do You Have "Ears to Hear?"Devotional for Tuesday 11 July 2017 / 18 Tumuz 5777 (posted Wednesday)
Rita’s devotional reminded me of a passage about the “parable of the sower.” As this wonderful story reveals, the truth of God's word will only take root, and grow, in the humble and sincere heart of a person who has a genuine love for God and His word. Please prayerfully consider these beautiful words of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
Luke 8:4 “And when much people were gathered together, and were come to Him out of every city, He (Jesus) spake by a parable:
Luke 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
Luke 8:6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
Luke 8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
Luke 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Luke 8:9 And His disciples asked Him, saying, What might this parable be?
Luke 8:10 And He said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Luke 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luke 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Luke 8:16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
Luke 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
Luke 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.”
Depending on our heart condition, there is so much in this life, including the devil, that can lead us astray and cause us to fall away from the truth. We must guard our heart, and seek to have a sincere and humble heart before God so we can grow in our knowledge and understanding of God and His word.
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
God is the only one who can give us a clean heart, and He has given His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the power to do just that! But we must wholeheartedly submit our "selves" to Him! Consider this very convicting passage:
Luke 9:23 "And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
Luke 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.
Luke 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He shall come in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels.
Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God."
As the passage from Peter that Rita quoted, some things in the Scriptures are hard to understand, but that's okay. As we walk with God, and read and study His word, He will give us the understanding that we need, when we need it. And we can trust God to see us through all the way unto the end!
This world can be so enticing, and we can be so busy that we don't have time for God and His word. Please realize, it brings the devil great pleasure if he can lead us away from God, but I hope that I have encouraged you to keep "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2
The King is coming, one great and dreadful day! May we be found faithful when we see our God face to face! And may He say to you, and to me, "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:23
Revelation 3:22 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
You all are in my prayers!
With the love of Christ,

Wednesdays Devotional. "I Will Never Leave You". 1. A thought from my book. I have a photo of the moon in my book with the words, "The moon, just like God, always the light in our darkness."
2. A poem from my book. "Moonlight on Amroth".
You give us light in our darkness
You reflect your face upon the sea
You make the waves carry your ripples of blessing to me.
So when I'm in life's dark times
I can rise above the despair
When I look up and see that you are always there....
....and you always will be
Because you said that you would never leave me.
Thank you God.
3. Hebrews 13:5. "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
God bless you all

((I'm so sorry that I forgot to post my devo for Friday. I was gone yesterday and today and I think I might be getting sick so I took a nap-- and anyway... this is not so much a a devo as it is just me sharing something the Lord has been teaching me recently.))When I was younger, I used to live in South America with my parents. We didn't know much Spanish (the language the spoke in the area we were) so it was a bit difficult to connect with people. We tried out a few different churches and finally found one that we liked. Still, it was hard to connect; we were intimidated by the South Americans and they were intimidated by us, Americans. Yes, we could have tried harder to fit in, and we probably should have, but we didn't. I had very few friends and hardly any christian fellowship at that time. I grew up believing that fellowship and community and group prayer was not very important; I could survive without out. Although, we didn't do family devotions like other people, I thought that if I read my Bible at home and prayed a lot by myself I would be all set.
But I was wrong. God created the church for a reason.
"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend." Proverbs 27:17 KJV
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
Matthew 18:20 KJV
We moved back to the States a while ago. I had been missing out, those years. Being separated from other Christians, especially ones my age, left me with a sense of pride. I didn't think that anybody liked me and I didn't like many people either. I didn't accept love and I didn't give it.
Last year a met an older gentleman in my church whose children have grown up and moved out. He was lonely. So was I. We shared the same hobbies and the same humor, so it was easy for us to became friends. I looked up to him, and I learned something very important from him:
God uses His people to teach me about Himself. If a person is humble-- empty of themself and filled with God-- they are vessel that God can channel His love through. God can manifest in them a certain aspect of Himself: love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self control.
In this particular case, God showed his love to me through this father-figure gentleman.
This man showed affection freely-- something my family was not very accustomed to.
I used to think that love/affection was something I had to earn. That I had to do something to live up to it. But this gentleman prayed with and for me, and every time I saw him, he said something encouraging. I realized he must be doing it out of love, and said to myself, "Wow, I did nothing to earn it and he gave it anyway. It makes me feel free. I feel like I can love others better now too-- that I am filled, so I can overflow and pass it on."
I wondered how it could be such a free love and then I realized that it wasn't an earthly human charity-- it was a gift from God.
God laid ALL His wrath upon His Son at the cross; He didn't save any of it for you or for me. Life-- the world-- does not revolve around you or me, so why do we think it should? Why would we think we are so important that God would save some wrath especially for us?
No, my friend.
God loves fairly. God loves deeply. God loves unconditionally. God does not save His wrath for anybody. We don't have to earn His love. We CANNOT. It's impossible. God already sees us as righteous.
Because of all that, I now understand this verse much better now than I would have last year:
"Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God's people."
Philemon 1:7 NLT

HailSaira, I hope and pray that you feel better soon. This is a great devotion because you are sharing a part of yourself and what God has done in your life. Never be afraid to share the stories of your life or what you are thinking or feeling. Anybody can copy a devotion from a book but God urged you to do a devotion so that we can hear about what He has taught you through your unique experiences. Never worry about the length of what you write (whether it is a devotion or not) because that it how we get to know you.
p.s there was a time in my life when I thought I could worship God without going to church and without the fellowship of others. I realize now just how much joy I missed by choosing to sleep in on Sunday mornings.
Gotta go get ready for church now.
God Bless You

Today I want to share a poem I wrote several years ago.
I Walked Past Him Today
I walked past Him today
in a hurry to be on my way
He sat there talking to the old and weak
with calloused hands and dirty feet
He was an average man of medium height
His face was plain and rather slight
He looked up at me as I walked by
I glanced His way and His smile took my breath away
He didn't have perfect white teeth that came from a jar
or the flashy grin of a movie star
His face glowed with love and happiness
yet His eyes reflected a profound sadness
"I'm called Jesus", He said
"Come follow Me", but I shook my head
I walked past Him today
in a hurry to be on my way

At first look, this poem is about rejecting salvation but it is also about not making time for Jesus.
We go about our daily lives in such a hurry that we often "walk" past Jesus. We spend a few minutes daily saying a prayer or reading the Bible but the rest of the day is spent with hardly a thought towards Jesus.
Have you walked past Him today? Did you put the sadness in His eyes when you hurried by Him? When I think about it in those terms, it causes an ache deep within my soul. Did I cause the sadness in Jesus' eyes because I was too busy? The stripes my sins put on His back didn't cause that sadness. He received those stripes with joy. The pain of His death on the cross didn't cause the sadness. He went to the cross willingly. Each time we don't make time for God we are forgiven but I image there is sadness in Jesus' eyes each time it happens. The sadness is there for what we are missing out on. Sadness for the Joy that we have let slip away. Sadness for the close relationship with Him that we are neglecting. What kind of friend am I when I walk past Him because I am in a hurry? Would you walk by a close friend you saw on the street without taking time to talk? Would you only say a few words first thing in the morning to the friend that is spending the day with you and then ignore them the rest of the day? Jesus is with you all day long everyday. Take time to thank Him for the little things. Take time to enjoy a sunset and thank God for the beauty of it. Take time to rejoice in the happiness of others and thank Him for that happiness. Take time to thank Him for each blessing in your life. Take time to just talk to Him. Take time to dwell in the silence of the moment with Him. Take time to feel the Joy of just being with Him.
Jesus is the Son of God and I have no way of knowing if what I do causes sadness in His eyes but I have read the accounts of His life in the Bible and I think He would be sad for us when we "walk" past Him and that sadness would be reflected in His eyes.
Put a smile on the face of Jesus today. Put happiness for you in His eyes. Spend time with Him.
Be a friend to Jesus today!
Today I want to share a poem I wrote several years ago.
I Walked Past Him Today
I walked past Him today
in a hurry to be on my way
He sat there talking to the old and weak
with calloused hands and dirty feet
He was an average man of medium height
His face was plain and rather slight
He looked up at me as I walked by
I glanced His way and His smile took my breath away
He didn't have perfect white teeth that came from a jar
or the flashy grin of a movie star
His face glowed with love and happiness
yet His eyes reflected a profound sadness
"I'm called Jesus", He said
"Come follow Me", but I shook my head
I walked past Him today
in a hurry to be on my way

God Was Manifest in the flesh!Devotional for Tuesday ~ 18 July 2017 / 25 Tamuz 5777
Speaking of being so busy! I am up late working on many different things that I need to get accomplished. I just can't wait till we get to heaven where there will be no timelines or deadlines! And I really loved Haiti time! They don't watch the clock there! It was so refreshing to not be stressed about the time.
I am not able to present a detailed devotional due to several different reason, but I would like to share one of my favorite verses from the Holy Scriptures that I hope you will prayerfully ponder.
1 Timothy 3:16 "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."
And our dear Lord is coming back one great and dreadful day! May we be watchful and ready to greet Him when He comes!
God bless and keep you--my dear brothers and sisters!
With the love of Christ!

Wednesdays Devotional. A thought for today entitled "Tilting The Prizem". Recently I visited my Mother for the day. During our quality time together she shared with me some of her ministry of her talks in her church group. She told me about tilting the prizem. She reminded me that a prizem is a transparent solid object, that when light is shining on it, it reveals many different colors and depths inside it. One minuet you are looking at the same transparent solid object seeing what you always see, the next minuet, when the light shines on it, you are seeing something new, new depths and colors that you have never seen before. My Mother went on to say that this is how she feels about reading God's word. She could read the same scriptures, but when she allows God's light to shine, she always sees more depth and meaning than she saw before, she always sees something new.
This got me thinking. In order to see the depth and colors in a prisem, it has to be placed in the right position, the right place for the light to shine on it. So it's the same if we want to hear God speak to us through His word. Spiritually, our hearts and minds have to be in the right place, the right position, then His light will reveal His word to us like never before. It's also the same if we as Christians want to reflect something of Christ to others. Spiritually, in the whole of our lives and being, we have to be in the right place and right position with God. His light will shine on us and reveal Himself in us to others. That's just the beginning of some thoughts on tilting the prisem. God bless you all greatly.

Devotional for Friday. There is a quote that goes "Tell me who you admire and I will tell you who you are". I have found that for me this is very true. The people I hang out with and admire affect me by small degrees so that even if I do not agree with some wrong they do, I will slowly become immune to it, by the osmosis of their character and morals. Even if I try to resist change-- if I spend a lot of time with them and do the same things they do, I am not strong enough in my own strength to not be taken in.
I need not wonder why the Bible says:
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
(1 Corinthians 15:33)
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.
(Proverbs 13:20)
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
(Ephesians 5:11)
I have also realized that these verses do not only apply to physical people. It can also apply to the internet.
Are you familiar with the idea, "don't go shopping when you are hungry"? There is evidence that people who shop when they are hungry, not only spend more money, but also buy higher-calorie foods (junk food).
In a similar sense, when we are lonely (mentally, emotionally, spiritually hungry) and we turn to the internet for comfort, we are too often satisfied with poor company. Although there is a lot of good to be found on the internet, there is more bad than good and it is much more prevalent. When we are hungry or lonely, we are weakened and susceptible and the enemy takes advantage of our weakness.
Loneliness is Gods' call to us. When we feel lonely, we should open our Bibles, not our computers.
In this day and age, it is so easy to inadvertently see evil being promoted. But Christians must take care to not be conformed to the pattern of this world:
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
(Romans 12:2)
We need to be careful what we look at:
"But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light."
(Matthew 6:22-23)
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.
(Psalm 119:37)
May God protect our eyes, ears, and hearts!
22 July 2017 Hi HailSaira,
I loved your message and the Scriptures you quoted. It is so important to consider who our friends are, and especially who we trust. Due to past experiences I am extremely cautious about what I believe and who I trust, but because of what I have been through causes me to trust in the Lord and HIS Word even more! He is true and faithful always!
Hi Marie,
I have a prism in my kitchen window, and depending on what season it is will determine where the light will shine on my kitchen wall. And even if the prism stays in the same place, the reflection of the light is contingent upon the position of the sun. There is a lot of "Spiritual" implications we can take from that one too! :)
I love your statement when you said: "In order to see the depth and colors in a prisem (sp), it has to be placed in the right position, the right place for the light to shine on it. So it's the same if we want to hear God speak to us through His word. Spiritually, our hearts and minds have to be in the right place, the right position, then His light will reveal His word to us like never before."
AMEN! It is my sincere prayer that I will be very attentive to the Voice of the Lord God through His Word and by His Holy Spirit!
May God be with you all as we wait on the Lord, so as Marie said: We can "be in the right place and right position with God." So that "His light will shine on us and reveal Himself in us to others."
With the love of Christ,

Monday, July 24
Electrical power, our daily routines come to a stop without it. We cook our foods or keep them cold with it, our computers, phones, tablets and all the other electronic devices won’t run without electrical power to recharge them. Some of us can’t even get a drink of water without electric power.
Our power went out last night and our nightly routines were disrupted. The electrical storm that took out the transformer was the most powerful one that I had seen and heard in years. The sky lit up with lightning bolts, each one quickly followed by a brighter bigger one. Sparks came from the power outlets as the air around us sizzled. The thunder rolled and crashed around us like ocean waves crashing onto land, as the wind blew the rain in sheets across the mountains. In the midst of the storm, I felt small and defenseless.
We could hear the thunder long before the storm was on us and long after it past us by. That is the way life is sometimes, we know that the storm is coming but there is nothing we can do to stop it. We try to prepare for the coming storm and find a safe place to hunker down and wait it out. After the storm, we do our best to resume our normal lives, but that is not always possible to do right away.
The power of the storm is sometimes overwhelming and like nothing we have seen before, but you know what: God is bigger and more powerful than any storm. There is nothing in this world that is too big, too powerful, and too scary, if we truly have a daily relationship with Jesus Christ.
We may say that “Yes, I am a Christian, I accepted Jesus as my Savior”, but in times of trouble that isn’t enough. We need a daily relationship with Jesus Christ to withstand the biggest, most powerful storms in our lives.
2 Peter 1:2-3 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence,
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea … God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.”
Psalm 56:3, 11“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God I will praise His word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? … In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
If we do not spend time with Jesus throughout the day, we will not feel His presence in time of trouble. He will be beside us but we may not trust in that when faced with the devastation this life sometimes brings.
Strive to have a daily relationship with the LORD and we will have peace in the midst of the storms of our lives because we will know without a doubt that Jesus is by our side ready to carry us across turbulent waters.
Please say a prayer for all those affected by last night’s storms and are still without power. Pray for the men and women that are working hard in this heat to restore the power and the roads that were washed away in the storm.
May your relationship with Jesus be strong enough to give you peace in the midst of storms.
Go with God.

Devotion for Wednesday. TRUST. Oh silly me! there I was, fretting about a situation, scrambling around trying to find a suitable solution, when suddenly it all came back to me.....TRUST....
Trustworthy
Reliable
Unconditional love and acceptance for me
Security
Totally committed to my well being......
.....That's my God, He is all those things, I can trust Him, I can trust my God!
My Nan gave me Proverbs 3:5&6 when I was 14 years old, I live by these verses, but being human I sometimes forget to live by them and have to be reminded, "Trust The Lord with all your heart and lean not your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." When I remember to do this, it takes away fear and stress and I have peace and confidence because I know I can trust God.
God bless you all.
Marie, thank you for the reminder.
Bless You
Bless You
#Marie#Haee.. True to that, thats who He is.. I Trust in the Lord in all situations knowing that, only in Him is fullness of joy.
His Word reminds me "fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2. as in, He has the authority, isn't that a reason to trust in Him. Oh my!!
Thanks so so much and be Blessed.
Hae guys, 1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Please fill in the blank
As new creations, what are we supposed to do when we sin, "confess our sins and _ _ _ _ _ God for the Forgiveness.
Be blessed.
Yes, Shadrack, God is FAITHFUL!Devotion for Friday
Why do most young people go through a spell of rebellion? I have thought about it for a while and came to this conclusion:
We push our authorities to test for any weaknesses. We want to know that the people in charge of us are worthy and shrewd and capable enough to handle us. We want to know that we are loved. Small children take in lots of love while they are growing (it's like milk to them) but teenagers, teenagers need even more love sometimes. Teenagers thrive off certain types of discipline. They want discipline that doesn't make them roll their eyes. They want to sense a power in their domineer-- a force that is too great for them to reckon with or argue against. In short truth, all that I think a teenager wants is for their parents' will to be airtight. (Aside from also, the fact that a teenager wants freedom to make decisions and be an individual.) But by the time a child has reached the teenager stage, they can see and understand more than the parents gives them credit for. The parent is not (and never was) perfect. The child sees this much more fully (perhaps the most fully they will ever in their life) when they are in their teenage years.
It reminds me of God. One day we will all grow up and we'll all be grown up teenagers walking around, being rebellious and annoying, testing each other to see if other people are smarter than we are. We don't want them to be smarter but in our hearts we don't want to be at the very top all by ourselves either because it's lonely up there. It's lonely and we don't want to be overloaded with blame when stuff goes wrong. We want the credit, but we don't want the blame. We don't want to make mistakes. We want someone to turn to when we mess up. There is an innate predisposition in all of us to go running back to mother and father when the going gets tough. Maybe we think we'd feel better if someone kicked us in the tail and gave us what we deserve. We know what we deserve. But then, God, all-powerful and all-just, fully comprehending the punishment we have earned, turned around and gave us His Son instead, shedding unconditional grace upon us.
We don't know what to do. It's discombobulating, it's mystifying, it's, at times, perplexing. It seems contrary to what our consciences tell us; that God holds all of hell in his hand-- burning, beckoning, abominable pit of fire-- yet He chooses not to give it to us. We deserve every last burn and every last scorch, to suffer forever and ever for our backsliding ways, but He chooses to not give it to us. That is what leads us to repentance. That is God's goodness. That is the fear of God. Unmitigated sovereignty behind sincere tenderness.
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
-Psalm 103:4
"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"
-Micah 6:8
"Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it."
-Psalm 139:6
God bless you HailSaira, As I go through todays devotion, ''....what are we supposed to do when we sin, "confess our sins and THANK God for the Forgiveness. ''
You are such a blessing Dear,We've always want the credit and not the blame, not to be our fault when we are at that top. So God foresaw all this and lavished His love on us- gave out someone to turn to when we mess up now. And just at the right time God gave us His Son and smeared us with His grace.

Did you ever think about how much power is in God's Word?
In Genesis 1, God creates the universe by speaking it into being.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Throughout the Bible, God's Word has the power of life and death. In John 11, Jesus is at Lazarus' tomb. Did you ever wonder why he says "Lazarus, come out"?
John 11:43 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” 44 The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
There is so much power in Jesus' Words that if He had merely said "come out" the whole graveyard would have risen.
God's Word has the power to change each and every person that hears it. God's Word has the power to change nations. Each time a heart and mind is exposed to the Word of God, the world is being changed. Just think what if Gandi had accepted Jesus as his savior? What if Hitler had been led to Christ as a child? How different would the world be? Think about how different the world is because God's Word changed Saul. Paul became God's disciple and thousands of lives were changed. What if God's Word hadn't reached Dwight L. Moody, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, Billy Graham, Charles Stanley, and you?
Each person you meet has the potential to change the world in very significant ways. The way the world will be changed depends on whether or not the Word of God has been heard and received by someone. The next person you meet could evangelize the world or he/she could bring devastation to it. Do your part to see that he/she evangelizes the world by witnessing to him/her.
Romans 10:9-10 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Salvation is having faith in God, confessing that Jesus is Lord and believing in your Heart that God raised Him from the dead. If you do that you are saved.
If you don't have faith in God yet but want to, let us know and we will pray for your salvation.
God Bless You

1 August 2017Hi Rita,
As I read your devotional, I am reminded of these wonderful verses:
Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Luke 8:21 "And He (Jesus) answered and said unto them, My mother and My brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it."
Amen! May we be doers of the Word, and not hearers only! And only through Christ working in us can it happen! Which is why we need the LORD!
Praise God, His hand is still extended for those who are willing to repent of their sin and come to Him with a humble and sincere heart!
Take care! And God bless!
With the love of Christ,
C.

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing..."
Hallelujah! Thanks C, God Bless you and yours

I've been sick this past week and was out of state the week before that so I was unable to contact the folks on the devotions schedule to see if everyone was interested in staying on the list through July.
So... if you're on the list and want/need to be removed, please just send me a message letting me know and I'll take your name off.
And if you would like to be ADDED to the schedule... again, just send me a message letting me know and I'll be happy to add you on!
This is the list I currently have:
(may not be the final list for July)
Sunday: Lee
Monday: Rita Faye
Tuesday: C. Read
Wednesday: Marie
Thursday: Arnie
Friday: Saira
Saturday: ___
Thank you all again so much for being willing to share devotions with us here!! :)
