"Wait! What? It's July? How did that happen?"
Yes, we admit it. We've been reading madly since summer began. What about you? What have you been reading? Share below and help someone else find their next great summer read.

Last night I finished up my latest audiobook and it's given me a terrible audiobook hangover. I don't know how I can listen to anything else after this wonderful, heartwarming book, The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire Saenz. This is the story of 17 year old Salvador who is about to face a year of upheaval and sadness, but does so with the strength of his large and loving extended family and friends. Some might call his family situation unconventional, but the book makes it clear that the family you create is the most important. Are there flaws in this book, yes. Some might call his father too perfect, but I didn't care because he was everything you could want in a parent. Some might say that everything was a little too neat and tidy, but again, I didn't care because it was all so beautiful. Plus the audio as read by Robbie Draymond was simply perfect. I wanted to keep driving and driving to listen to this.

Currently holding my bookmark is What We Break by Reed Farrel Coleman.

Cee (simplystrange) I read The Inexplicable Logic of My Life a few months back and absolutely loved it. It was beautifully written.

The next book waiting to be read is Dreadnought by April Daniels Dreadnought (Nemesis, #1) by April Daniels which looks to be cute and funny with a mix of heavy topics.

Susan (yetanothersusan) | 203 comments I finally was able to read Into the Water. It was good but not quite the intense thrill of Girl on the Train. Now I am reading The Epiphany Machine. Has a feel somewhat like Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, but not as quirky.

Emily | 2 comments I just finished (yesterday) The Heart of the Matter by Graham Greene. I'm now working on Wuthering Heights (a re-read, felt like I might appreciate this one more as an adult); The Things They Carried (how did I miss this one?); and I Claudius (fascinating and full of ancient Roman intrigue, scheming, and poisoning!). Hoping to finish these by the end of July and also maybe add one more into the mix.

I am about halfway finished with this book. It is so intense, but I am loving every moment of it! I have literally gasped at the tragedy of it...

Boy's Life is one of my all time favorites. So much packed into one book. Literally something for everyone.

Currently holding my bookmark is An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole.

Mike | 2 comments I've been burning through audiobooks at work.
I've read Borne, The House of Silk, MatchUp and Alpha in the past week and a half.
They're all very good.

House of Silk is a Sherlock Holmes story written by a modern author that was very good and very much like an old style Holmes novel.

Alpha is a thriller set in a theme park and I liked it, but maybe liked the idea of the theme park more than the thriller aspect?

MatchUp is a collection of Thriller short stories written by many authors. Each story is a male and female author being matched up to write a story starring both of the main characters from a series they write. It's a bit of a strange way to set up a collection of stories, but the stories are all very good.

Borne is weird. Like, really, really weird. There's a flying bear and killer children and a talking plant that might be a person. It's strange and post-apocalyptic and I liked it alright, but really felt that the ending made up for the strangeness of the rest of it. It's probably for a very particular taste, but it was really good.

Stephanie Stefun I read the book My Family for the War. I'm also reading books 7-15 in the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan (Sweep: Volume 3, Sweep: Volume 4, Sweep: Volume 5) as I finally own them all.

Susan (yetanothersusan) | 203 comments I am reading a book called Larry and the Dog People about a retired man who after getting a dog becomes a better person. At least, I think that is where the book is heading. I really wish I did a better job of making shelves. I feel like I have a lot of books I could put on a "dog" shelf!

I'm reading "If I understood you, would I have this look on my face? : my adventures in the art and science of relating and communicating" by Alan Alda. Intelligent read and funny, the book is about learning to communicate through improvisation exercises. It made me a nervous wreck to think about doing that but I shouldn't feel too bad; Mr. Alda said a well known actress wanted to pretend she had a heart attack to avoid improv!

Cee (simplystrange) I am currently reading Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger Changeless. It is looking to be a fun, decently quick read.

Mike | 2 comments Just started Final Girls which I expected to be a quick and dirty Slasher novel, but instead it's a complex psychological thriller. I'm really enjoying it, even though the horror genre isn't my favorite.
