Hope I'm in the right area to seek some recommendations. I'm on a nun, 1100AD kick. Loved Pope Joan and just finished illuminations. Must be fiction. Nuns, priests, religious orders, etc. Any recommendations would be appreciate.

La Religieuse by Diderot (written in 1760, but published posthumously in 1793). Excellent book, partly satire, but it brings across the culture of the 18th century convent!
I would also definitively recommend La Religieuse by Diderot. I had to read it for my French literature class and in my opinion it is a book that really represents the way monasteries worked in that era.
