The Circle series is the best. Four main books, Black, Red, White, and Green. But then there are several other books lightly associated with those four. Those books I would define as great. He has several other books that are definitely good. Three, Adam, the series he did with Tosca Lee (don't get me started on Tosca Lee...her books are amazing!), and a few others that I can't remember the names without looking at my read list. 🙃 He is a favorite author of mine, probably specifically because of the Circle series.
The Circle series is my favorite also. Followed by the Martyr series and The Books of Mortals series with Tosca Lee. Adam and Three are also up there in favorites. I don't think I have ever scored a Dekker book below a 3. My most recent read from him was the A.D. Series which I found to be interesting. Gave you an idea of what it might have been like to be a follower of Jesus around the time of the crucifixion. He has a unique style and way of really being the point of the book home at the end. His stories stick with you.
I started the Circle series, but I had trouble getting into it. I started with Green, but seems that wasn't the best place. So, then I tried Black, but again, I just couldn't figure out exactly what was going on. That was years ago, though. Maybe I need to try it again. Apparently, his daughter started writing too.
Yep, it was a little confusing at first, but so worth it to stick with it. It becomes a beautiful portrayal of the love story of Jesus with the church. At least, in my estimation. Definitely start with Black.
I thoroughly enjoyed the circle series. I plan on rereading them soon, once my TBR has gotten a little smaller.
I haven't been able to get into the Circle series but I have it in my pile to try it again. My favorite Ted Dekker novels are A.D. 30 and A.D. 33. I also really liked Three - a very intense psychological thriller but not so bizarre and make-you-cringe as The Priest's Graveyard. That one was too creepy for me.
