Judy Martin | 2 comments I am looking for humor for 88 year old reader. Any ideas?

Joanne | 1 comments Hi Judy, I just read Heartbreak Hotel by Deborah Moggach. It's not at all cheesy despite the title. I thought it was really funny.

Sian (sianj) | 1 comments Round Ireland with a Fridge

I thought this was funny, a light hearted bet that results in an adventure around Ireland (with a fridge). Tony Hawks has done at least one follow up so if your 88 y/o wants to go on another adventure there is the next book selected

Charlie Uniform | 1 comments The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared is funny and an easy read.

Tanyia | 1 comments I would second the 100 year old man. Seems to be a crowd pleaser for all ages.

Yes! This is a good one

Judy Martin | 2 comments Thank you all .I bought her the 100 year old man who climbed out the window which she enjoyed . I will track down round Ireland with a fridge and heartbreak hotel . Many thanks

Sue Ardagh | 1 comments Agree about the Fridge and Ireland - it's a great read.
ALso would recommend anything by Bill Bryson, my 85 year old father liked his latest one "Notes from Little Dribbling".

Kaz Bland (kb_shortstuff) | 4 comments I haven't read many humorous books. Maybe I'll try one of these.

Amanda (lambsearsandhoney) | 3 comments Anything by Bill Bryson has always had me giggling within the first few pages.

Sue Cold Comfort Farm is an oldie but a goodie and scores lots of laughs on re-reading

Barbara Anderson Bill Bryson definitely. Wonderfully wry humour. Nick Hornby is funny too, though perhaps not to an 88 year old. She might enjoy Dorothy Parker, who had a wonderfully dry wit and wrote very amusing book reviews and theatre reviews which always bring a smile to my face.
