I had hoped to have read and reviewed Uncorked on the podcast by now, but life got in the way. I am happy to be back into it!
I had to giggle as Paul describes work at Sophia Antipolis, how he couldn't run errands during his long lunch break because everything was closed, and how the food truck lady had a strong accent. Kissing Fanny too, LOL, I saw a lot of guys who had to do that growing up in France!
My first job after returning to France after 18 years of corporate life in the USA was at a software company in Sophia Antipolis and I ate at food trucks there too. During work hours I fought with French co-workers trying to get them to adopt my American-learned methods. They complied resentfully and went back to their old ways as soon as my contract was up.
Anyway, I'm enjoying the book. Have you finished reading it? How did you like it?
I rad it back at the end of April- I thought it was very cute! Light, entertaining, a great summer read. I'd have to look it over again before a group discussion though.
