VK | 2 comments I am loving the SFR/Alien Erotica genres at the moment then I realised the other day that a lot of settings are earth girls going to another planet meetig aliens. There seems to be less books with aliens coming/staying on earth with the earth girls. I wonder if that is the case, and if anyone has any recommemdations on books where girl meet alien on earth and the story setting is on earth?

Sofia (aifos) Humm,.. no idea sorry. Indeed most books are set outside of Earth.

I can only think of an Young adult series called Lux by Jennifer L. Armentrout. There's a spin off of these series that's adult, you should check it out, it's pretty good and set on Earth

I can only think of post-invasion Earth settings, like the Krinar Chronicles by Anna Zaires or the Women of Earth series by Jacqueline Rhoades.

Oops didn't mean to end there. Was going to add my favourite is Anna Hackett's Hell Squad series, but the relationships are human-human and the aliens are the bad guys.

Sorry just thought of another! The Prophecy series by Lea Kirk.

Sela (selacarsen) | 33 comments My Wolves of Fenrir series does a little of both. Although, really, the furthest they go is the spaceship in orbit around the Earth.

Celestine | 286 comments Great question! A lot of these have been published for several years, so I think this theme of "aliens staying on Earth" is not popular right now in SFR. Here are a few others besides those already mentioned!

You might try the Dark Planet series by Anna Carven. The series starts on a station in Earth's system, moves to Kythia and then comes back to Earth. I am about 65% done with book 7, Electric Heart (Dark Planet Warriors, #7) by Anna Carven , and all of it has taken place on Earth. Lovin' those Kordolians!

Parallel Attraction (The Parallel Series, #1) by Deidre Knight . A series I read a long time ago is the Parallel Series by Deidre Knight. Parallel Attraction is the first book.

Runner's Moon Jebaral by Linda Mooney . Linda Mooney has a five book series of novellas called Runner's Moon.

Sandeflay by Linda Mooney . This stand alone by Linda Mooney starts out on Earth (and was actually my favorite part).

Collision (Colliding Worlds Trilogy, #1) by Berinn Rae . This is the first book in a trilogy by Berinn Rae that starts with an alien crashing in a woman's back yard and then escalates from there (Rae is also known as Rachel Aukes who has done the zombie Deadland series that I really liked and is currently doing the Fringe space adventure series)

Girl Under Glass (Glass and Iron Series, #1) by Monica Enderle Pierce . This book is a mash-up of alien invasion and dystopic/post-apocalyptic genres. I really liked this book, but the series has only continued with short stories to this point.

Invasion Earth (Delroi Connection) by Loribelle Hunt . The Delroi Connection series is one that I read years ago, but it looks like Loribelle Hunt has reissued it. Book one, Invasion Earth, is free through Amazon in U.S. markets.

The E.T. Guy (Office Aliens, #1) by V.C. Lancaster . There was a short discussion very recently about this book in another thread.

RavensScar | 13 comments All these take are about aliens coming to earth and staying. Most of them are part of a series, I'll just mention the first book in the series :)

Malachi by Ashley West

Alien Mine by Marie Dry

Vados by Erin Tate

Awaken me darkly by Gena Showalter ( This series is one of my favourite ones.)

The Culling by J.C.Andrijeski

The host by Stephenie Meyer

Jenn (jeralibu) | 3 comments If you're interested, I know a few "aliens on earth" SFR books in the m/m genre:

Uncommon Ground by Kelly Jensen

The Village series by Darien Cox

Bone Rider by J. Fally

And I have a free short story with a human-alien cop stranded on Earth called Line of Sight.

Cindy (frazerc) | 32 comments Openly alien characters living on Earth [with the associated bigotry]. I thought the author did an excellent job of making the aliens FEEL truly alien, not just hunky guys dyed blue...

VK | 2 comments Thanks all for your recommendations! They should keep me busy for a while. May be Celestine is right - they are not as popular now as alien in space. I guess I can understand, it's more exciting if the stories are set in space or some exciting new planets. Even for movies the only alien on earth movie I can think of is "Starman" with Jeff Bridges, and that was in 1984!

RavensScar | 13 comments There are actually quite a few scifi/alien movies that are set on earth . Not sci fi romance, but scifi. Here are a few movies set on earth :)

The fifth wave
Some of the Star trek movies
The arrival
Mars attacks
The day the earth stood still
Encounter of the third kind
E.T.
The Host
Ok those are the ones I remember right now :)
But I agree with you not a lot of scifi rom movies. Wish there where more.

The fifth wave books by Rick Yancey have some romance in them too if you're interested in them. But I would say they're YA :)
