I can see that Warm Bodies is to be a July book, but I kind of already read it, so here goes my review, for those who are still waiting to get it.Take note that I read this book like a year ago, after the movie came out. I'm a bit rusty on the details. Oh and if you watched the movie before reading the book, I do need to tell you that the book is WAYYY more dark and depressing than how the movie depicted it as, although Nicholas Hoult makes a very cute R.
I did give the book a 5 star rating, but beware, it may not be for everyone.
Summary:
R is a zombie who's a little different from the rest whom he sees around him in the airport where he makes his home. He not only can feel some form of emotion, unlike the rest of the dead, but he strives to be able to express himself by means of saying a few syllables at a time. Now there are the occasional details that I find strange (view spoiler), but besides that, R's life is described quite in detail in the beginning. It may seem a little slow at first because of this. I had to bear through it for a night. R then goes and meets Julie, a human girl from one of the few surviving human colonies known in the book. She and some of her friends scavenge for food when he and a bunch of zombies come upon them. What would've been a predictably horrible end for the humans turns out to become the start of a remarkable zombie-human relationship. I shall not go much further into the details, as that's where the story really starts getting interesting.
What Stuck Out to Me:
Instead of a regular "What I Loved/Hated" column, I'm going to go with what I remember, as I guess those were important enough parts for me to actually recall after a year. The following MAY contain spoilers...depending on your definition of "spoilers". I try not to ruin anything for your enjoyment, so I'll give you the option to read further whenever you'd like.

Overall Recommendation:
I do recommend this book, as my rating shows, but as I said in the beginning, the descriptions are more....detailed than I had initially expected, as I saw the movie first and totally fell in love with it. However, if you could ignore areas that may be a little strange, though it adds to the world building, it's generally a very interesting story that tugs at your insides about what defines the Human Factor, and ultimately makes someone human.
I saw the movie trailer and pics and think R looked much cuter as a zombie. Thoughts?
