Children's Book Authors/Illustrators discussion

I am working on a children's fantasy adventure book. Ages 9-12. Looking for an illustrator. Any suggestions?

Less than $500. 8-10 black and white drawings to be scattered through a 100 page book. I had found a delightful artist but she declined due to too many other obligations. The book features a dragon, fairies, elves, dragonfly and three children, 2 girls and 1 boy.

10 illustration
what is the drawing or page size?
are all these characters together in some pages? If they are it's good to jot down the placement on a rough sketch page.
are they individually placed on some pages?
do you have a sample drawing that you have in mind?
when is your deadline?
what file type do you need (it won't be done in illustrator because it's too expensive and time consuming)
the price and time depends on the complexity of the drawings so if you can show me a sample, even from a book that you like it will help.
(normally less complex drawings can be done within this price range)
My clients are always 100% satisfied with their work which is why I ask these questions.
Once I know the specifications I can ask for artist's availability. It can be done.

Last September I published a book entitled Werewolf for 4th through 8th graders. I asked my grandson, Jonah Molaison, to do the illustrations. He was in the 7th grade. The first cover he became unhappy with, so he did another. I included it in the book proper. He did a third that I found awesome---the reflection of the werewolf in the victim's eye. My point is that you can check with young artist with developing ability and find illustrators for your children's books. Our book is on the Kindle site. Local JrHI/Hi art teachers may be able to help.
