This one is...um...well, it was free. Which is great, because I sure wouldn't have paid for it.

So much made no sense what so ever. Interesting premise, not so much on the execution on this one, I feel.

The geek culture references felt forced. And supposedly, Mia's blog is constantly being mentioned by places like The Huffington Post and Jezebel, and other gaming sites, but she has hardly any followers and even with all these mentions, she hasn't managed to turn it into something that can make money. I made 5 dollars on my blog last year, and the only people who read it is my friends and family.

Yes indeed... it was free! lol

The parts showing all the emotional issues were not all that bad either. It was piled a little high, but it was easy to believe in their damage. It was not easy to believe they were going to overcome that damage anytime soon.

The author may have looked over someone's shoulder as they played an MMO. Once or twice. It seemed like she knew the words and phrases from hearing them somewhere, but had no real feel for how any of it fit.

And the communication issues... and I just mean the hardware related ones! She says early they all use voice chat except Fallen (Clark Kent), then later she says she doesn't do voice chat because it bogs her computer down. Somewhere in between, before she has her new cell that Adam (Superman) buys her, is where she calls Heath mid game on the phone.

Just as when her mom calls her earlier in the book, this is her !LANDLINE! that she clearly pays for even though she can't afford time for her cell.

Is the author too young to remember landlines, and thinks they were cheap/free/came with your rental?

Is semi-viral even a thing? I was pretty sure you either were or weren't.

Why are dice a scary, mysterious thing?

So many questions....

We still have a house phone. It's VOIP and it was included in the internet/cable bundle. I really don't want it, because it's compleatly unneeded, but it's way cheaper to have the bundle than to get internet alone. And we have to pay the TV tax no matter what, so we might as well have cable that basically only gets used to watch football.

Do we want to start talking dates for our Hangout?

Yes! I'd be up for any of Sun/Tue/Thurs the 23/25/27 for next week. Don't have the schedule for the week after yet, and I've been covering late shifts for people on vacation, so I can't be sure about that first week of August yet.

You know me. I have no life and I'm good pretty much whenever.

Also, I just noticed I originally not only put the wrong title for this book, but I put the thread in the wrong place. Guess I just wanted to use my mod powers a lot this month. :)

Ha! never noticed. :) OK, so I'm just gonna say lets do Thursday, cause it's an actual day off, so I'm in less danger of napping!

Hi ladies
Thursday is ok for me. But I can't remember the time :( (Nowadays I can't remember a lot of things)

PS: Still not read the books. I need a speedy reading day :)

Usually at 8 pm, although if you need that changed a little, we can work with it! I'd recommend skipping right on past this month since you're behind, lol, save the precious reading time for the good ones! :)

Ok, so, the 27th then, at 8 CST, unless someone needs it later/earlier.

I will go buy more whiskey. Or wine. I'm out of both.

Is it 8 CST or 8 GMT :D

CST can be a problem :)

I stay in a dorm, so after 10 pm I should not make noise. But if I don't laugh loud or something like that, I think I'll be ok :)

I get confused sometimes by the multiple types of abbreviations for the same time zones, but I'm aiming for what should be 8 pm for both you and Jen on your local times.

https://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...
tells me that's UTC +2 if that's a better way of saying it :)

Although we started off calling it CET, and the internet keeps telling me that's UTC +1. But anyway, the goal is to have it at 8 pm your guys local, which should be 2 pm for me. (hopefully)
