hallo...
Well. 'Conspiracy' is pretty much what the group is based on. Conspiracy and action-plots. I'm sure every member of this group is enthusiastic about such reads.
And there's other groups on the site as well. 'Espionage Aficionados' and doomsday-preppers, visionary-fiction groups, underground literature, and anarchist fiction groups, etc.

Recommendations? Galore. Can you be more specific as to what timeperiod, what type of conspiracy? What country?

Hi Felix, perhaps government related conspiracys? You are very helpful (always), thank you very much. Thanks Doubled 99.99
Thank ye very kindly. Well to service your need I would first take a glance at our bookshelves, specifically the 'classic standalone' shelf. 118 choices.
Take your pick of any of these--note too, that most of them have very decent movie adaptations.
'The Domino Principle' - Adam Kennedy (very fast-paced)
'Six Days of the Condor' - James Grady (prophetic, cerebral, thoughtful, stylish)
'The Viking Process' - Norman Hartley (will rock you, if you don't know it)
'The Tears of Autumn' - Charles McCarry (far-east thriller based on US foreign policy)
'One More Sunday' - John D. MacDonald (religious crime conspiracy, but boy is it good)
'The Parallax View' by Paul Leverone is there too, just as 99 says.
You probably already know 'The Manchurian Candidate' so I won't go overboard with that one.
rogue pick:
'The Ninth Directive' by Adam Hall. Another far-east thriller but its so riveting it stands up to any purpose. I can't stress enough how incredible the writing from this author is. Every time I pick up one of his titles I am shocked at how deft he does his work; and I've read hundreds of thrillers. Hall is a former flight engineer so he knows planes inside-out. He also knows guns too; (but that must be self-taught).
Anyway here's the plot: the Brits have discovered that one of their VIPs (a colonial governor, or an ambassador) is to be assassinated by a guerilla group in Bangkok. The killing is intended to stir up tension between the Brit government and Thailand. So they not only have to find the assassin before he strikes, they have to assassinate him just before he makes his attempt and then cover-it-up. Outlandish! It's like Forsythe/Jackal only on amphetamines.

by the way, Allen Drury is an American author who specialized for years in US govt conspiracies. Usually in the area of US - Soviet relations.
'The Hill of Summer'
'Advise & Consent' (famous movie as well)
Oh! A classic I should've mentioned earlier: 'Seven Days in May'. Fine novel and a superb John Frankenheimer movie.

its fairly confusing. To my mind, Adam Kennedy is the only author who has written anything with 'Domino' in the title. He coined the concept and he rather owns it.
Joseph Heywood? never heard this name
Whatever he has written may be okay; but its not Adam Kennedy. Adam Kennedy's book was so good it got a movie adaptation with Gene Hackman, Mickey Rooney, and Richard Widmark. Just sayin! Stay authentic! :P
