The Fairest Beauty
By Melanie Dickerson
I personally really liked this book!
I found the hero, Gabehart, to be one of those winsome guys that every girl wants! He's handsome and kind, and best of all... he shoots bows and arrows! How much more attractive can he get than that?
Anyways, Sophie is a girl who has grown up as a servant to Duchess Ermengard. Suddenly, Gabehart shows up claiming that she is really a Duke's daughter and betrothed to his brother, Valten. So basically, it's a retelling of Snow White and she and Gabe escape to the Cottage of the Seven and romance brews. You all know the story, but Melanie Dickerson did an amazing job of making the well-known story interesting and put lots of twists in there that keep you on the edge of your seat!
Overall, I loved the book. I have to say though, that the ending was very quick and cheesy, but it didn't take away from the rest of the book!
If you'd like a look, here's the book trailer!

Waterfall
By Lisa Tawn Bergren
I loved this book so much! This series is my all-time favourite!
The back of the book makes it sound really cheesy, but its not at all!
This book is upbeat and keeps you soooo interested!! I seriously could not put it down and I have read it several times over!
Goodreads Review:
What do you do when your knight in shining armor lives, literally, in a different world?
Most American teenagers want a vacation in Italy, but the Betarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives among the romantic hills with their archaelogist parents. Stuck among the rubble of the medieval castles in rural Tuscany, on yet another hot, dusty archaeological site, Gabi and Lia are bored out of their minds...until Gabi places her hand atop a handprint in an ancient tomb and finds herself in fourteenth-century Italy. And worse yet, in the middle of a fierce battle between knights of two opposing forces.
Suddenly Gabi's summer in Italy is much, much more interesting.
This book is full of twists and plots that keep you interested and it never lags!
It is pretty much clean, except for one part during battle when Gabi is trapped to the ground and one knight starts to unbuckle his pants and all, but of course Marcello comes and rescues her and everything is fine:) Nothing real or graphic happens, but yet you are swept into this adventure/romance that you get so attached to the characters and even after the book is over, they are still in your heart and they live on in our memories:)
Oh, and I can't end this review without mentioning Luca <3 He is Marcello Forelli's cousin and captain of the guard. He is so funny and is on the cover of the novella Tributary. He is my personal favourite of all the characters. He is funny and a total Prince Charming. And I love his reaction when he first sees Lia! :D
I recommend this book and the rest of the series for EVERYONE cus it is so amazing <3
Here's a book trailer, but just saying, there's one typo. It's not Falassi, it's Forelli.

Also in the series are Cascade and Torrent.
These are also pretty much clean, but in Torrent there is one scene, but it is not graphic, just saying :)
Here is Cascade's book trailer

sorry I couldn't find Torrents :/

I've also read The Captive Maiden, but I haven't read any of her other ones. I want to tho cus I lived them both!!
Okay. I am going to recommend Every Storm! She is a girl who teaches a school far away from her home. When she visits her plane crashes and she gets rescued by a ship. She gets home, starts helping at a school and then guess who shows up... you will have to read the book to find out!
This is a Christian romance. The author is Lori Wick who is an awesome author. You should also read the Californians. That is a series by her. Another is The Kensington Chronicles!
Okay, so Zoe mentioned to me that I should post about my book here :DREALITY; Darkness into Light
Here is the synopsis:
Meet Zoe, a troubled young girl in the midst of a family divorce and facing life without her best friend, due to suicide. She is spirling into depression and starts to get too close to an occult group yet, she is curious as to what they have to offer. Meanwhile God is reaching out to her through a new Christian kid at school and a kind teacher. Her life takes a side line when she is kicked out at 13 and ends up getting pregnant. With no-one to turn to and God at her every corner; Will she run to the darkness or face her reality and be called into the Light through Jesus Christ?
This book is fictional but, faces a lot of challenges that I and others face on a day-to-day basis. God is truly our hope in despair!
Blessings,
Melanie Kilsby
Reality writer for His Glory!
Oh, LOL! It is called: Reality; Darkness into Light
I just added it to the bookshelf but, the ebook is not yet on goodreads. Soon, I hope though. It is on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles though :D
Oh haha. Whoops. I really would like to read it sometime! Is it on Christian Book Distributors? That's where I get most of my books.
They just emailed me and would like more reviews...so far I have 2 heehee. Both at 5 stars, but they would like to see more and then they are adding it. They love it...just want to make sure everyone else does too :DI can let you know when they do?

Halflings, by Heather Burch
There are so many things wrong with this book and i will make a list of them all so that you will not make the same mistake as i did and start this series.
First of all, this book was boring. There was nothing really going on other than poor, whiny Nikki's love triangle.
And now, let me go into everything that was wrong with the theology of this book.
~Half humans-half demons are not sent on assignments from God, and they are not rejects of heaven and they are not good. They are demons, like their fathers.
~God is love and Satan has no grasp over love, so he couldn't possibly make Halflings and humans fall in love (which, in the book they said was the enemy's wish)
~God (and angels) are merciful (but yes, they are just as well. You must ask for mercy by giving your life to Jesus) so they wouldn't have banned Will from his position in Heaven's army. That is stupid. Will would have repented, they wouldn't have thrown him out.
~Nikki does marshall arts and karate and stuff. They're trained to be tuff. Nikki is a whining, fainting disaster.
~Nikki hasn't accepted Christ into her heart yet, so angels (or Halflings) wouldn't be on an assignment to watch over her. Once she accepts Jesus, then an angel (not a Halfling) would be sent to guard her.
~If Nikki truly loved Mace, she wouldn't be falling for Raven as well. The very fact that when Mace fails to make her happy, she goes searching for love through Raven, it shows that she is boy-hungry (at the beginning of the book, it states that she doesn't care about boys) and is wanting to be loved, not wanting to love. A relationship made up of wanting to be loved will never last.
~Angels (or Halflings in this case) would never leave their charge's side. They never sleep or eat. The Halflings, however, weren't always there for Nikki
~Even were Halflings good, they wouldn't be misfits. They could either embrace their angelic blood and live in heaven (or hell, whatever) or they could embrace their human blood and live as a human. Heaven would never be so cruel as to ban them from both worlds.
~A demon calls the Halflings 'Sons of God' when it was clearly stated that they were born of demons and also that God deserted them and had forbidden them to be in Heaven. This is just plain twisted. I mean, seriously?
~If Mace could heal Nikki's wounds with kisses (like he did), he could have easily healed Bo's. Flaw in the writing here.
~the Halflings and Will aren't sure what Damon Vessler and Omega company wants with Nikki. But God does. God knows everything, and so if they were on an assignment from God, he would have told them.
~Mace is half angel and so fast, humans can't see him moving. I think he could have easily outrun the bullet, especially when the girl he loved was near the other side.
Over all, I didn't really like the book, but it was okay. Because this book was so detail-deprived and focused sorely on the love triangle, my curiosity is not satisfied and I want to know what happens. Plus, I think I have some suspicions of what might happen in the other books, so I can't wait to see if I'm right.

Words Spoken True, by Ann H. Gabhart
If you're looking for something to help put you to sleep at night, get this book. If you're looking for a good read and something to entertain you, stay as far away from this book as you can. Please.
To be honest, this book was boring. Really boring.
There was a lot of bunny trails and the book was completely pointless. I actually skipped paragraphs at a time and didn't miss a thing. And they never even say why it was that Stanley wanted to marry Adriane for. And the entire plot revolves around that fact.
I love reading, but this book was just so boring that it has actually given me a headache just thinking about it.
So spare yourself the time and money, and do not buy this book.

The Centurion's Wife, by Davis Bunn & Janette Oke
The Centurion's Wife
This was an amazing book, to put it simply!
Basically, Pontius Pilot has sent Centurion Alban to discover what happened to the body of Jesus and Claudia Procula, Pilot's wife, has also done the same with her servant and niece, Leah. What they discover will either change their lives or cost them their lives.
Again, this book was amazing. I highly suggest you all read it. It really kept me interested.
However, I must warn you that despite the title, this book does not have a lot of romance in it. The two are betrothed but have hardly met five times by the end of the book and their wedding. But despite this small lag, it was amazing! The characters still fell in love and i love that it was based not on looks, but by their heart, which is the only kind of true love.
I can't wait to read the next two books in the series!!

Sarah Sundin
Summary - Allie Miller has never been able to please her parents. In order to do so, she will have to get to married a man that she does not love. But then she has a chance meeting with Walt Novak. Walt is everything that Allie wants in a man and the two begin to write. In their letters Allie and Walt find love and faith. But there are secrets that may keep them apart for ever.
Some things I liked about this book was that the characters were believable. It wasn't all rainbow kisses and unicorn stickers. There were trials the characters went through, which made them feel realistic, which is what I like. And Ms. Sundin didn't just mention God once, either. He was actually mentioned several times through out the book and instead of sentences, there were paragraphs. Thats something that annoys me in some books, where al they add is a sentence or two to make it "Christian", so this was a refreshing change. I also liked how the chapters alternated back and forth between the two main characters until near the end, which was nice to hear both sides of a story, and not confusing. The book was never boring… it always had a way of getting you to turn pages, wondering how their stories will turn out. The ending was absolutely perfect {though I did feel it was a tiny bit rushed}. Not at all left on a cliffhanger.
Also, if you read this book for a book club it does have discussion questions at the very end.
Something that needs to be addresses for younger readers is that this book does have mentions of drinking and smoking through out the book. There is also mention of homosexuality once or twice. And because this book is set in WWII, there is war violence on Walt's side of the story, but it's not too graphic.
Language - From what I remember it was pretty clean, but there may have been one or two words slipped in there.
Romance - Clean and sweet.
Conclusion - I absolutely loved this book. I will definitely read this again, once I finish reading all of my other books. It was sweet and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
Entwined by Heather Dixon:This is a retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses and is VERY amazing! It is part adventure and part romance. I suggest that EVERYONE reads this book! To convince you even more if you don't like romance, my tom boy sister read this and LOVED it!
Has anyone read The Gates of Zion by Bodie & Brock Theoene? My Mom suggested it for me but we tend to have different interests in books. If you have, is it any good?
I've heard a lot of good things about them too, but I don't like the covers and I'm just gonna say that I DO tend to judge books by the covers lol :P
I almost bought the entire series when they were on sale at my bookstore for 3 bucks each but decided not to. But I've heard they're great, but it was mostly just my mom and dad who said that lol. So I'm in the same place as you :/

I liked that series! They were really good, a little boring at parts but not often. They're kinda romantic, but have nothing graphic. I recommend them! I also started the A.D Chronicles by the same authors, but they were really boring, so I wouldn't recommend those unless you love historical fiction. ;)
