Hopefully all of you know that librarians are a great resource for finding new books! We may not get to read at work, but isn't that the best kind of "homework" anyway? So we'll always have recommendations for you at the library that are pre-vetted.
But in case some of you are wondering about where we look for books, here is a starter pack for adult fiction (we'll get a children's/teen list up tout de suite):
Awards worth noticing: Pultizer Prize, fiction and nonfiction awards (as well as some fantastic pieces of long-form journalism) The National Book Awards, a prestigious award for nonfiction, fiction, and poetry writers The Man Booker Prize, awarded for a title published in the English language The PEN/Faulkner Award, for "the best work of fiction published by an American in a single calendar year" Texas Library Association Lariat Award, an annual list of 25 works of fiction that are "a pleasure to read." (Shameless plug, since I am on the committee :D )
Miscellaneous sites we love: Fantastic Fiction, for series orders, award lists, recommended genre lists, and all kinds of stuff Book Riot, articles about books, reading challenges, and all kinds of literary references
