Stoic Book Club discussion

I'd be very grateful for comments about Christian writers who have supported or endorsed Stoicism or key elements. I suspect CS Lewis would generally have considered Stoicism quite favorably, but can't off-hand think of specific quotes or comments.

This is a question I had, regarding the acknowledgment of stoicism in the religious community, if it is accepted objectively if at all.

I am on a new spiritual journey and have great mentors but I feel as though the general response is to automatically revert to all purpose or events to the glorification to God and Jesus, maybe I'm misinterpreting that but I would really love to discuss this further if possible.

A better place to discuss this will probably be one of the Stoicism discussion groups on Facebook.
