Elizabeth (Alaska) Needs fixing to restore name with latin characters.

EDIT:
I'll start work on this tomorrow. I'm going to edit the works so that Aleksandr Ostrovsky is the primary author. I'll copy the photo and vital statistics from the Cyrillic to the latin name, and cross-reference. Should the decision be made in the future to change the spelling of the latin author, that can easily be done.

ETA There already is an English profile though:

I don't think the patronym (middle name) is necessary in English, books are usually published without it.

ETA2 But of course all books need the English name first (that was probably what you meant?).

Elizabeth (Alaska) I see there was already a Looking for a Project thread.

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I noticed this because a book I have shelved, that used to have the latin name, now has the Cyrillic name.

Lau Maia | 444 comments I was going to help with this but I've noticed now that it was a super who changed the same so I'll wait for info

lethe | 16380 comments Ah yes, according to that other thread Alexander Ostrovsky is strangely enough not the preferred English spelling.

Lau, maybe remove the name in your comment. We are not supposed to name librarians when talking about edits.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I think it should be Aleksandr Ostrovsky, but I could be wrong about that.

Yes, I think so too. I don't think the patronym should be there even though that is apparently how the LoC calls him (Aleksandr Nikolaevich Ostrovsky).

Lau Maia | 444 comments Sorry about naming, didn't know about that rule!
Hum what I was saying is that the superlibrarian changed the Latin characters of the author Aleksandr Ostrovsky the the Cyrillic one...

Elizabeth (Alaska) Moved all books to Aleksandr Ostrovsky.
