So, who's seen the movie? How do you think it compares?
I saw the movie (before I read the book... GASP!) and I'm about halfway through the book now. I'm having a hard time imagining what the second half of the book can contain. It seems like most of the things that I remember from the movie have already happened (well... except for a few major events that wrap the movie up).
So far, I like the book okay. It just seems really long.

I haven't seen the movie yet. How do they handle Death as the narrator? His descriptions of things are, to me, what really made the book. Did they do that justice?

To Phil: I'll forgive you this once on the movie before book sin. Next time however . . . . .

Jessica (my wife) had read the book and wanted to see the movie. Yay, Netflix! Honestly, I had no intention of reading the book (it's not in my normal reading genre). I guess it didn't work out that way...
I think that the movie does a good job with Death. He has a very nice, sophisticated, narrator-y voice. I don't think he has quite as much input as he does in the book, but his inclusion makes sense and adds to the film. You should watch it. Good movie.
