I will be reading Pericles by Shakespeare. He is a prince, and there are also two kings in the play, the kings of Antioch and Pentapolis.
I'm currently reading Heartthrobs: A History of Women and Desire, which mentions stars and celebrities (I haven't finished it, so real royalty might be talked about as well!).
Both Her Royal Spyness and The Demon King are on my Dust the Shelf challenge list, so I might try to tackle one of them this month. Other possibilities from my shelves are:
A Court of Wings and Ruin
The Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince
The Orphan Queen
Oath of Fealty
The Trouble with Kings
If you like Shakespeare, there are a lot of plays about kings and queens. Most of them are fairly short as well.
Two suggestions, from books I've already read this year:A Little Princess - Frances Hodgson Burnett. A very sweet classic story.
Sinful Cinderella - Anita Valle. A funny modern update of the fairy tale, which I think would be ok as there's a prince in the story.
I'm still deciding what to read - sorry, Rosemarie, I can't cope with Shakespeare. Too many memories of being bored rigid at school! Though I love the ballet version of Romeo & Juliet.
I am doing the ongoing Shakespeare challenge in this group, so this book can be used for both. Pericles is not a typical Shakespeare play. Pericles has adventures, complete with shipwrecks, hidden identities and Greek island settings.
I am glad you mentioned A Little Princess, Trisha. I keep meaning to read it, but then get side-tracked.

I am planning to listen to a recorded reading of Hamlet. I will read along. The challenge I am also satisfying is "a book set in Denmark " (personal). I'd been wanting to read some Shakespeare before this month's theme was announced.
I am going to go for one book for now since school will be starting soon.
Currently Reading: Shadow Kiss
Currently Reading: Shadow Kiss
I will be reading Xanadu by John ManAbout Marco Polo's journey to Kublai Khan's China in the thirteenth-century world.
Finished River's End - which mentions several times that Liv's parents were 'Hollywood royalty' - so I'm counting it. :)
Currently reading Ooroonoko (Think I spelled it right) the tale of an african prince sokd to slavers
I read The Firebird, which ended up including the Russian Tsar Peter the Great and the Empress Catherine. I also read The Midnight Rose, which ended up being about Indian royalty. So two unplanned books in the theme.I also just finished Her Royal Spyness.
I read The Horse and his Boy by C.S. Lewis, which also had characters of royal background, and also Oroonoko.
I am currently reading The Queen's Poisoner by Jeff Wheeler. It is a traditional fantasy story with Kings and Queens. It has been on my TBR for a long time. I am not really liking the story, too simple and predictable.

It can also be taken more loosely to include modern renditions such as movie stars, athletic stars, etc. Fiction or nonfiction.
