Hi all! I wasn't online this weekend so I haven't had a chance to check in yet. This is my third round of BSB and I've had a blast each time! Looking forward to playing with you all! =)
I don't know that I do...I can send them a message, but not for another couple of hours...I'm still at work.
Checking in. No idea for a team name at the moment, and no time for being captain, but I will read.
Sorry so abrupt, but I'm at work. Just wanted to make sure you all knew I wasn't flaking.
Hi Ladies, this round we have two players named Suzanne. I've sent a PM to Suzanne (in Indianapolis, IN), who is on your team. Suzanne (in Idaho Falls, ID) is on T#3. Sorry for the confusion.
First Shelf was called!Shelf #1 ~ 8/9/17: Kindle Freebie

I like Baker’s Dozen! I thought of Lucky 13 also, but that was about it...I don't have a lot of desire to be captain, but if no one else wants the post, I will take it on! =)
I'm good with Baker's Dozen. Lakeisha how about you for team captain. You seem to be staying on top of things thus far.
I'm good either way...if you want to take a stab at captain Lekeisha, go for it...this is only my third round, but I'm happy to take the helm! =)

Lekeisha, above every comment box is a link - add book/author. When you click on the link, put the book you want in the space and you can choose either the link or the cover. Being a captain requires you to be able to link the reviews to the Master List. Shout out if you don't know how to do that, and we'll give you a hand.
Lekeisha wrote: "Ok, i do need to know how to link the reviews."No worries Lekeisha, its a bit complicated to explain; I had to do it last round as well, so I'll dig it out and paste it soonish :)

Review:
I really enjoyed this story for the most part. Raya is a young woman with a few insecurities that revolve around her father and the things that he has done in the past, and her financial situation compared with some of the students she goes to school with. Kade is a seemingly spoiled rich kid, who doesn't care about anything but partying.
Neither have really taken the time to get to know one another, despite being neighbors, until the are forced in close proximity.
I love the author's writing style, because it drew me in like a moth to flame. Why only 3 stars then? I spent the first half of the book thinking I was going to give this 4 or 5 stars, but starting getting annoyed with Raya and her insecurities when it came to money. I understood that she was uncomfortable, but most of that was her own doing, because none of the people who mattered ever did anything to make her think that they felt sorry for her in anyway or belittle her due to the fact that she didn't have as much as them.
Free Space — option 2 (Best of Paranormal Romance Series, post #11)
, Ilona Andrews – 8/12/17 – ✮✮✮✮✮Review — What an amazing installment! First off, the build up between Kate and Curran is killing me! I know it is going to blow soon, but the wait is killing me! I really enjoyed how well this story progressed and pulled on not-so-mainstream mythologies. There was so much going on, but it all wove together into an heart-stopping ride from page one to the very end!
OK good :)Basically you are linking the players review to the master list. The Master List will look something like this mini example (from the Captain's Log):
Teammate 1 ~ BOOK LINK by AUTHOR 1-5✮ rating Date Read LINK TO REVIEW
The idea is to use the add book/author link for the Book Link by Author, then to indicate players' rating & the date read, you do that before trying to link to the review.
So it would look like:
Suzanne: Across a Moonlit Sea by Marsha Canham ★★★ 1/2/17
Use the (some html is ok) link and copy the first link. Change the my link text to Review or something similiar. So:
Suzanne: Across a Moonlit Sea by Marsha Canham ★★★ 1/2/17 < a href="http://www.goodreads.com"> Review a> (I've added a couple of spaces so that it shows up)
Then to link the review, you right click on the date/time link on the right hand side of the review post. This will give you something like copy link location (depending on your browser) you right click on that and paste it somewhere in the master list cause you are going to cannibalize it to fit into the first link above.
I've done it to your msg above this one just to show you what it looks like and I've added spaces again so you can see it.

You'll notice that the first half is the same as the first link, so you copy everything after .com from the forward slash to the last number and paste that to the first link, before the quotation mark.
Once you are happy that it links correctly you delete the bits left of the 2nd link (I generally just cut rather than copy it, but the first couple of times I recommend copying it instead)
I've also attached a link from Lisa Kay's HEA group which she's given permission to use, which shows some of the steps with screen shots:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
All of the above sounds like a lot of work but once you get the hang of it, its very easy & quick.
I hope this helps Lekeisha :)

, Chanda Hahn – 8/14/17 – ✮✮✮✮✰Review — What a fun take on the classic fairy tales! This isn't like the TV show Once Upon a Time, but it is still a very unique spin making the classic Grimm fairy tales into modern day challenges that chosen Grimm descendants must overcome.
Hello I finished the Free Space book:As Lie the Dead by Kelly Meding - **** - 8/14/2017
I believe it fits option (3) A book off of the group's bookshelf.
Review: I think I liked this book better than the first one. The main character is a kick ass "Dreg Hunter" which means she's a member of the police that keeps supernaturals in line. Only it's not really police, it's like a special rogue unit. Series is very gritty and very similar to Jennifer Esteps Elemental series. It was good though, I liked it!

Kindle Freebie shelf, I read Betrayal finished 08/12/17 4 stars review: New author for me and I enjoyed her writing style and characters. I was drawn right in to the story. Alexandria aka Alex aka Charli was on a last hurrah vacation with her best friend before starting law school and meets Nox. She and Nox agree to spend the week together with the guideline of not sharing any personal information. I liked how the story was told from the past and present. In the past we got to see Charlie and Nox's relationship unfold and in the present we see her interaction with her unbearable family. Even though I saw it coming, the past and present colliding at the end of the book, I was intrigued by the story and characters and will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
Week 2 — Second, Third, or Fourth in a Series
, Patricia Briggs – 8/18/17 – ✮✮✮✮✰Review — A great follow up to the initial book in this series. I loved how much information was given on the various paranormal aspects of this world. It was also great to see the complexity of Mercy's relationships with Adam and Sam...I'm really looking forward to seeing how that progresses! I couldn't quite give this one a five-star rating though, because is lagged a bit in some parts and the end seemed a bit forced, which is unfortunate considering how well the rest of the book came together.
Week 2 — Second, Third, or Fourth in a Series
Blood Magick by Nora Roberts - *** - 8/18/2017 - 304 PagesReview: This was the last book in a very predictable Nora Roberts Trilogy. I think she's expensing vacations and using them as "inspiration" because this one was set in Ireland and the last trilogy was published in Italy. I mean if you can get your published to pay for it, go for it! However, the story was a typical Nora Roberts paranormal romance, HEA and all.
Free space shelf, read Frost Burned finished 08/18/17 5 stars review: This series gets better and better with each book. Patricia Briggs is a very talented writer. I love her characters and the world she has created. Mercy continues to prove that she can more than hold her own in a world of stronger beings. She is a bad-ass heroine who is compassionate, loyal and protective of those she claims as hers.
I can't wait to read the next book to see what trouble Mercy gets into next. I highly recommend this series

Review:
I will start by saying that I am always glad to see a Breed Warrior find his breedmate, but this one wasn't as great as others have been in the past. I had a hard time believing that a woman with a traumatic past such as Alex's would not be more freaked to find out the person she is putting her trust in and giving her body to is anywhere close to the same type of people who changed her world in a bad way years before.
At the very least I would have expected her to decide right then and there to get as far away from Kade as possible and not believe a word he says until he has done some heavy duty convincing, but no, she just kinda roll with the punches.
I also didn't feel there was much chemistry between them. I was told that their was an attraction, but I didn't feel it.
I have to say I am more intrigued by whats to come than what actually took place in this book.
One question I hope is answered in the next book or somewhere down the line is: (view spoiler)

Review:
I enjoyed this book. Ty is sexy and sweet, and so is Lauren.
I like that we didn't have to wait for these two to admit their attraction for one another. Almost immediately (not quite, but close) they start a tentative relationship that turned into so much more. Can I just say that these two were super sweet in their getting to know each other & support for one another, and super hot when they hit the sheets.
I hate that they had to deal with Lauren's ex, and I was almost in tears after what he did to her.
If it would have had some laugh out loud moments it would have been perfect.
Now, I am looking forward to seeing Zach, Jullian, and Brad have an hea at some point.

Review: Second book in the Talon pack series. Main focus is on Brynn and Finn who are the public faces for their packs. Brynn struggles with working so close with Finn because she recognizes that he is her mate but he doesn't feel the same draw. On top of that they have to deal with increased violence aimed at them from prejudiced humans.
This book is full of great characters, great writing, action, suspense and romance. I look forward to reading each book in the series.
