R.J. Abell | 682 comments Okay so....I have already posted about this in general topics...sorry :/ has anyone else watched this??? I actually bought it off of vudu and .....hmmmm...it's a little awkward. I won't say I don't like it yet. Let me watch it another time to see how I feel about it. I'm straddling the fence here. I'm not crazy about some of the actors. I think maybe if they went with different people it might be better for me. What do you all think???

Okay so here is where I'm going to be the odd ball.

This movie was a in my opinion a very loose adaptation. So taking it away from the book to watch this (I rented via Amazon Prime) I enjoyed it. Sure some of the acting could have been better... but looking at this as just a movie the storyline traveled well.

Now if I was to compare this to the book I would like totally probably dislike this movie. I mean really this was just all over the place. Major events did happen but they were early on in the movie or very late in the movie or just didn't happen at all. I feel maybe we could have had a different actor for Cam. I just don't know how I feel about him. I did like the actor for Daniel. He screamed at my soul like I felt he should.

There are things that happened between Daniel and Luce that didn't happen in the books but again if I'm looking at this as just a very loose adaption it didn't bother me... but if I'm basing it completely off the book then I'm a little peeved about it.

I loved the way Penn was portrayed. Yes, Penn is supposed to be a little on the heavier side and covered in more layers. The party in the woods is actually supposed to take place in the dorms. And I thought Randy was a woman and not a man. I don't remember but either way little things that I think I could over look.

So if I base my ratings for this movie as just a loose movie adaptation I loved it.

Rating based on adaption of the book as a whole... it's okay.

I finally saw this I think it was on Hulu and I thought the movie was okay. Now for me it has been years since I read Fallen so I couldn't remember much past the basic plot. but I think it suffered from what a lot of ya adaptions do especially fantasy ones they think they can make the movie better instead we end with some not so great actors, events that aren't similar to the books.

There were some things in the movie that I could over look but there were some things that just left me scratching my head. It was just one of those movies that I think could have been better but it wasn't there. I think they could have put more into the movie. I didn't mind the not well known actors they put into it but I think that it could have been better planned. However, I enjoyed it still and the husband got it for me for Christmas. We don't try to surprise each other for Christmas anymore lol it's easier to just say what do you want and keep going.

I liked it too, enough to try and reread the book, however I am so not in the mood lately for a lot of genres. Even books I have previously liked.

I have been actually. I've been going to bed a touch earlier every night just to read more. Before I know it I'll be going to be about 5 pm just to read until it's actually bed time.

The earliest I'll go to bed is going to be probably 8... I send the kids to bed at 7 now because they don't like to go to bed and spend two hours up and down. After two hours of being up and down then they fall asleep.

Mine just don't calm down to go to bed. I'll be happy when school is back in session so I've got time to clean and read and clean and read some more.
