It amazes me when you can hear a song and it takes you back to a certain time in your life.
Like when I hear (not very often) - Petula Clark's Downtown, I think of me and my sister running around in our yard filled with live oaks singing the song. I was probably about 7 then.
Or hearing Queen's We Will Rock You takes me back to 9th grade standing at my locker with my friends Kay, Rick and Kathy. Between classes the office played the radio for us!

I grew up in the south. Country music was a big thing even though my parents did not listen to it. I had a thing for Glen Campbell even as a little girl. In 1981, I lived in Galveston. So of course I loved the song and he was dating a Texas girl, Tanya Tucker, at the time. I'll never forget driving home over the bridge on I-45 into Galveston, probably coming from eating at Ninfa's, my favorite Mexican restaurant at the time, and the song - Galveston came on the radio.
I was sad to hear of him having Alzheimer's a few years ago. I am really sad that he's gone away from us now.

He is best known for a series of hits in the 1960s and 1970s, and for hosting a music and comedy variety show called The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour on CBS television, from January 1969 through June 1972.

Just saw the comment. I'm exactly the very same. The one that get me the most is this brilliant sunny September day when I decided to surprise my then boyfriend at his job. I had driven down from somewhere I lived, and was waiting in the parking lot til i saw him walk into the lot and I could get him. Just as he walked out that door, "Hungry Eyes" came on the radio. Need to say anything else? As I write this I'm watching VEVO music videos.

I was sad to hear of him having Alzheimer's a few years ago. I am really sad that he's gone away from us now.

Glen Travis Campbell (April 22, 1936 – August 8, 2017) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, television host, and actor. He is best known for a series of hits in the 1960s and 1970s, and for hosting a music and comedy variety show called The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour on CBS television, from January 1969 through June 1972.
TASKS:
1. Read a book published in April or August.
2. Read a book where the main character is a singer, songwriter, musician, television host, or actor.
Campbell made history in 1967 by winning four Grammys in the country and pop categories. For "Gentle on My Mind", he received two awards in country and western, "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" did the same in pop. He won and was nominated for many different awards in music and acting.
3. Read a book where a character walked away from love OR still thinks about the past.
4. Read a book where a character is very successful in their professional life.
5. Read a book from 1967 in Literature.
"Rhinestone Cowboy" was Campbell's largest-selling single, initially with over 2 million copies sold.
6. Read a book with a cowboy or a Western.
7. Read a book from this list of best-selling books.
8. Read a book that connects to one of Campbell's Top Ten Hits. Tell us what the connection is.
After Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he continued to work and went on tour with some of his children. He was married 4 times and had 8 children.
9. Read a book where a family works together.
10. Read a book where a character dies due to an illness.
