Aida (mrsflowers) | 14 comments Spain. I also lived in Senegal.

message 2: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments I'm from Germany, so English isn't my mother tongue...I apologize for mistakes lol

Even though, I prefer reading in English. So many things get lost in translation and I actually believe English has a better 'flow' to it than German.

message 3: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments Actually yeah. I mean we take English classes pretty early in Germany and I think the more you read, the more you learn :)

message 4: by Aida (new)

Aida (mrsflowers) | 14 comments Oh, Spain is pretty nice. And Senegal is a country in West Africa.

message 5: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I'm in sunny England... but it is raining at the moment, but then what do you expect for summer.

message 6: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments The worst thing about the weather here is it is really sunny and hot, but throughout the day you get lots of rain, so you either wear shorts and get soaked or wear trousers and get too hot.

I love Spain. It was supposed to be my September trip this year, but circumstances beyond my control have made me have to put it off for a while... Go to the right parts of Cali it looks like parts of Spain or Italy. It is amazing how different and similar the world can look simultaneously!

message 10: by Susan (new)

Susan Ward | 141 comments Or so one of my favorite Disney Songs likes to remind us!

I was born in the East End of London, I was a snotty nosed gutter snipe we moved to Australia when I was ten and after university I traveled the world for 6 years then ended back here in the country town of Burra South Australia where we do say G'day and I planted an apple orchard and set up a cidery in between times I write all sorts of books, cook books, cider books, crazy whodunits and action adventures.

message 14: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Yay. Free cider samples for all? hehe

message 15: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Oh and welcome to the group.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you and if cider was cheap to post perhaps we could organize a competition but it is expensive to post, However, I do have an idea for a competition if Ashleigh is willing involving signed copies of my books.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

No I think Hobart is the best city in the world but I am biased I don't live there but I do own land in Tasmania with a small apple orchard. It just occurred to me I don't want to advertise my own books but people were talking about cider and my book Cider Make it Drink it cook with it has instructions on how to make cider in the home with NO equipment, what could be better than that.

message 18: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Pretty sure nowhere in England would be considered, all our cities I have been in smell, are very grey, noisy, polluted and empty shops everywhere.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

But the countryside is very beautiful and you do have lovely villages and some really nice small towns.

message 20: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Yes everywhere else is lovely, once you get out of the big towns and cities. I do a lot of walking and there are some amazing places. Even just outside the town I live in there are some amazing places.

Tinka wrote: "¡Hola! that's pretty cool, I'm taking a Spanish class this year and my teacher is from Mexico ^^"

Awesome! Spanish is pretty easy to learn, but maybe I'm just speaking for myself when I say that, because my dad is Mexican and he's the one who taught me. I'm actually American but I've been living in Mexico since I'm three. How advancend are you in Spanish? :)

message 24: by Tinka (new)

Tinka | 495 comments Oh, just in the beginning. The class just started so I don't know that much. But the language is very beatiful and it is so much fun learning it ^^

Jason wrote: "Can you teach me Spanish please, I know that Hola means hello, that is as far as Dora the Explorer has got with teaching me."
Haha! I could totally teach you Spanish for the very low price of... $300 dollars. Jk, jk. No fee at all cuz I'm just very friendly :p

message 29: by Jason (new)

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Jason wrote: "Excellent, I reckon we should have a thread, "Spanish with Ashley". haha"

If we actually made a thread about that, I think I would die of laughter, haha! Oh, and we can all schedule weekly classes together and try to coordinate our timezones in order to do that.
