Currently still reading Sansa I's chapter, but:
Tyrion II - I really like Jon and Tyrion's odd little relationship. Sad we really didn't get to see this on the show but that's not really important I guess.
Catelyn II - LOVED this chapter. We really see how George R.R. Martin writes a great action packed scene without being over the top. Also this is the moment we get to see Robb really start growing up.

take your time guys and don't worry Paul! I am just posting this for those who want to have space to talk:) I am not done with these chapters yet!

A chapter of wedding. These Dothraki don't seem to be the type of people you really want to hang out with, or marry if you are a young teen.
Paul

We learn that not all that is gold glitters. Robert is king but it is a life without joy. Robert would rather run off with Ned and have adventures like they did years ago. We also learn the Jorah Mormont is a spy working against Daenerys. This is kind of sad as he seems so nice when talking to her. We learn ab bit about the Lannisters sacking King's Landing during the rebellion.
Paul

We learn the size of the north and we get to see the type of people that now make up the Night's Watch. WOW humanity has to hope that the scum of the earth keeps them safe. Good thing most people don't know this. Or even believe in the monsters north of the wall. We see Ghost defend Jon and see that the wolfs are very protective of the kids.
Paul

This chapter starts off kind of slow but has a big ending. Getting your hands deeply slashed must hurt a lot. And it will make life very hard for a few weeks. The best part is seeing the wolf rush in and kill the attacker. We can guess that Cersei was at the heart of this attack.
Paul

I really don't like Sansa. You just had a bad feeling when her and Joffrey runs into Arya and her friend Mycah. I just wish someone would put Joffrey in his place. We get to see another of the wolfs defend one of the kids. I loved to see Lady chew on Joffrey's arm.
Paul

WOW it has been 4 days since the brew ha-ha. We see Ned try to do the right thing. We see Cersei be a major witch again. And we get the feeling that she really does not like the Starks at all. We see how awful the hound is. I hate that Lady was killed but I am glad it was Sansa's rather than Arya's wolf. Sansa deserves this for standing up for Joffrey. Personally I think Sansa did if to spite her sister.
Paul

The chapter starts out odd. we get Bran dreaming and then the crow shows up and tells him to fly. We can see that in his 'dream' he can view things that are really happening as they happen. He is developing some hidden talent that i am sure will play a huge part sometime in the story. and we get a glimpse of what is to come.
Paul

We meet Littlefinger and learn about his past with Catelyn and the Stark family. He just comes across as a creep. and then we meet Varys yet another creep. after a few meetings we find out the dagger someone used in the attempt to kill Bran was last known to belong to Tyrion. This is bad, now you don't know if you should like or hate Tyrion.
Paul

Jon is at Castle Black in training and at first we think he is getting picked on by everyone but then we get to see the other side and learn that Jon has been coming across as a better than thou snob. We are introduced to Jeor Mormont the very definition of bad boss
Paul

Ned arrives at Kings landing with his two girls. Everyone hates everyone just like a real life vacation lol. we learn that the small council is running the Kingdom and that the kingdom is very much in debt. Ned meets his wife and is told of everything that she knows. He wants to go tell Robert but is reminded that it would be a bad idea. We get the first inkling of a coming fight when Ned tells Catelyn to fortify the north. This doesn't look good at all.
paul

It is hard to know what chapter you are in the books as none of them are numbered and they don't have the # after the POV character to help.
I started reading as soon as you created the group but I had the last 2 days off and spent a lot of time doing other things. That said you are almost caught up to me - I need to get cracking.
Paul.
OOPS. CHAPTERS 11-20! I'm so sorry!
I also made an effort into labeling my own books through little post-its as labels to remind me what chapter I'm on! haha. It is a lot easier now since this book is so hefty.

Does anyone else who has watched the show hear the voices of the actors reading their character's lines?

I'm going to read another book (new Sarah Pilborough yay!) in the meantime, I will keep an eye on this thread, but I don't want to come bursting in and spoiling people without meaning to.

Paul

Paul.

I'm really enjoying them at the moment.

I think the fact that he must deal with all of this responsibility and marrying someone for political reasons is what makes Robert the way he is. He finds joy in other women because he doesn't really like Cersei in that way, he probably didn't think ruling would be this tedious and he's trying to find joy.
I absolutely adore Jorah! It was just heart breaking to find out that he was working for Robert to get out of exile. Khal Drogo seemed rough, but when he goes to consummate the marriage with Dany he's sweet (something they absolutely changed in the tv episode that I didn't like).

Hey, Paul :) It wasn't Lady that attacked Joff, but Nymeria (Arya's wolf). I was pissed when Sansa was asked to tell what happened and she lies! Omg I wanted to choke her! She saw everything that happened and she experience Joff's horrible attitude when trying to help him at the end of her chapter. He was being a huge cry baby and then turned into an obnoxious royal ass. Poor Mycah :(
Brittania, the change of Khal Drogo was definitely annoying! I can see why the show changed it, so his development will be even more obvious, and it showed Dany being so upset about the arrangement.
