Annette (adwritea) | 3 comments Hi - I just discovered this group and wanted to say hello. I've been reading psychology books for years. My daughter has a mental illness so I dove into the literature in an effort to help her and frankly myself as her caregiver. I've read Kay Jamison's books, and Patty Duke's autobiography. I've also studied the books of Dr. Brene Brown. I'm currently reading three books at a time. (I don't know why I do that but I'm a bibliophile!): The Story of Psychology, Feeling Good, and Mindset. On my coffee table are Goleman's Social Intelligence, Koerner's Doing Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. I've also read about cutting and DBT. As well I have two textbooks dealing with how to establish a family therapy practice. I hope one day to become a MFT. If anyone can recommend some excellent books about cognitive behavioral therapy, I'd be grateful! I'm looking forward to learning from all of you!
